Hi I just installed NWN 2 platinum and I seem to be missing alot of race choices, for instance with plane touched I can only make fire gensi
it's been a long time since I have played the game but given I can find any information about what is needed to use the sub races it feels like something is wrong

My best bet for how the are pick is the stats tab in the creation screen where I have say moon elf under elf and a set of blank spaces under it where other sub races may live but don't

hope this is clear and in that right place thanks

Have you updated the game and do you have any mods installed? Or try a reinstall at least.

Something's definitely wrong and this sounds like a bad dialog.tlk file.

Bad dialog.tlk, or you have an dialog.tlk in your override folder and are overriding it.

Definately the .tlk is causing this as Sabotin and kamal_ have said.

I'm having the same issue from a new purchase of the platinum version off of Steam. I've specifically not done any modding to the game yet since I wanted to see how it was in a vanilla state first.

Since this thread's in agreement that it's a .tlk file issue, how can one repair it? I revalidated through Steam with no effect. Checked with Steam on patches and they said that the game is current with updates. Also checked with a friend who also bought the game off Steam and he's not having this problem.

If I do have to go the full uninstall/reinstall, I will, but if there's something that'll be less intensive or quicker, I'm open to suggestions.

search for dialog.tlk on your system

deleting your player folder, the game will recreate it, see if that helps. If not it's something going on with your install and you will probably need a reinstall.

I am having the same issue. I did what was listed above, but it did not work. I was wanting to make a Drow, but the only option I have is moon elf.

I'm not a modder so my knowledge of the game's workings is very limited but you could try using a mod that has a custom dialog.tlk if that's indeed what's causing the issue, here's a link to a good one http://nwvault.ign.c...l.Detail&id=209

If it was my game I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with such a band aid fix though, as you can't really be sure if the tlk file is the only thing that's messed up and issues could arise later, but maybe it'll work out.
