I'd rather be a space hippie with a vanity plate on my boxy Volkswagen space ship from 40 years ago. The vanity plate would read "GR00VY". I would wear tie-dye, sing "Imagine" and "Blowin' in the Wind" and grow a beard. Then I would have awesome hippie sex with my hot space hippie girlfriend, before watching The Flinstones. After that, we'd smoke pot on the steps to the Council Chamber in the Citadel and sing Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry," whilst informing Turians and Krogans to "make love, not war".

^Yeah, I'd just stay out of Shepard's way, and avoid becoming red-shirted.

probably not. too easy to freelance in the ME universe. the only reason to join would be the training. But I would be more likely to join than I am now. I'd like the fighting, but IED's are so much more common than actual combat.

Much like Cerberus' role in the ME franchise my species switches when it's convenient.

Having been an infantry rifleman myself, I would have to say no. Either you're stuck on a cramped ship for 6 months at a time, with people that will make you go insane or you're stationed on some backwater colony were nothing fun will ever happen.. Anything remotely technical or starship related would require an insane amount of time spent in various military academies.

There is no meeting aliens, no saving the galaxy, just doing a thankless job only to be bombarded from orbit when any action shows up.

C-sec on the other hand...

But from what I see that basically requires spec ops training, which I know I'm not up for.

Don't listen to him. time has made him become bitter and let's face it; crazy over the years. He'll sell your childrens organs to zoo's for meat. And he'll go into peoples houses to wreck up the place. And then laugh maniacly.

That's what I would do...if I had the time to go crazy.

But I'm far to busy hunting space-hookers with a crossbow.

Quoting Futurama Nixon in response to a quote from Watchmen Nixon is pure win.

What unit were you in Toby?

Heck no, then I'd have to deal with Giant Warmachines and cheesy one liners like "Assuming Direct Control"

I've always wanted to play a character that comands a Cruiser. That to me is the best ship in ME it may not have as much firepower as a Dreadnaught but its fast and agile enough to be in the thick of the battle and is large enough to take a bunch of hits without going down.

Man I wish we weren't still on the Normandy 2.

To answer the question yes I would in an instant.

probably not, i would live on mars and go to college off my dad's GI bill and trying not to fail another class so WOULDN'T have to join the mars or Alliance military (earth still has counties and individuals military so im just speculating the same on mars)

And if i had to go I would try hardest on my ASVAB test to get into at least flight school, I wouldn't want to get a some crazy alien disease on some back water planet I've never heard of.

Not in a million years. Did you see how crappy the equipment they gave their soldiers was? You could straight go to a random store and find a better set of weapons and armor than they give frontline soldiers.

Yeah, the various militaries seem to be quite respectible and well-equipped. Though I might have a problem with being on a token Alliance garrison at a remote colony.
