Would it be possible for you guys to patch into the game a new setting that we could choose for the R2 button?
You could leave the Square, Triangle, and Circle the way they are.
At the bottom middle of the screen you would see boxes for skills/spells that are translucent untill R2 is held in. Once R2 is pressed you would be able to select a spell/skill from those boxes. You could have a single row of 5 boxes or maybe even 2 rows of 5 boxes down there.
I think this would be a lot better than the way R2 is currently used. Plus it would bring us a little closer to having the same layout of spells/skills as PC players do with the 1-0 or the F1-F12.
Im not sure if this is even something you guys thought of for the PS3 version or not, but im sure there's others out there would like more skill/spell boxes on screen to choose from.
R2 could have been used better for spells/skills

Amen.
We NEED more buttons.
2x5 buttonbar instead of only 3 mores seems nice (As an alternative perhaps)

ok either I'm an idiot or what you said is exactly what they have already....except that R2 only has room for 6 actions in total...but yeah idk i need a more detailed explanation it seems

I played Lord of the Rings Online a while ago, and this game has a very similar feel. The thing is, and I know you use a keyboard on LOTRO, only six action at a time really stinks. It's pretty clunky to have to Hold L2 then aim at the icon you want, then aim again. Maybe if the D pad was worked in some how.

i still think they could have made better use of the R2 button and spell/talent selection

They could have allowed us to use the directional buttons as well while holding R2 though that might have caused some other issues such as with targeting when needed but meh. The control scheme definitely could have been better with more quick options available.
