he's looking better than what I saw from Bioware... the armor might've been to blame for the BW model, because they said Vega would be a "football player on steroids", which is actually how it looks like from your pic.
also, people complaining because he's too muscular should remember this is an universe which has in-utero corrections that could exclude one's fat gene, leaving him with a perfect physique that can be improved further through training.

I would say that Bioware and other successful professional studios are really good at creating the appearances of characters, which fit their personalities, roles in the game, personal stories, etc. (this was partially confirmed in those documents / articles about Mordin and his depiction as Cleant Eastwood among Salarian scientists or Grunt and his "baby face").
So I am pretty convinced that the "original" James Vega (or whatever his final name will be) looks as close to the looks his authors (writers?) imagined for him, when they were creating his story and role in Mass Effect 3, as possible.
Now your James Vega, looks more like a main hero than a supporting character. You've given him more passionate and determined look, but in exchange you've removed some of his calmness and ruthlessness.
