Anyways, I'm going to harp on the fauxhawk again. What an unfortunate design decision. I've a question for Bioware, since Vega is the noob/FNG aboard the Normandy, will it be possible for Shepard to haze him by having the crew hold him down and shave the retardation off his head?

No, he is getting too much attention to just BioWare kill him like that. Also, what would be the point of his alternate outfit?

See and I was working on the assumption he had a normal haircut and they hazed him by shaving it on his head. Since he's new to the franchise, they would tell him the Fauxhawk makes it harder for geth and reapers to target him.

Not a half bad explanation actually. I like it. I'll just pretend that's what happened.

Then how about Olwydd's edit? It's not as radical a change and it makes him look significantly better.
All he did was alter the lips, lift the eyebrows, make the nose slightly longer and less squished and slightly (barely) change the chin.

I like your version but I perfer the Bioware one. I don't think he is as bad looking as everyone says and I think most people don't like his looks based on the CE edition picture which admittedly is quite derpy.

He just looks like Kaidan with a beard now lol.

Based on Olwydd's edit, here's mine! I pretty much used photoshop and the teaser from December, and made him look like the sniper in the Big Ben. I'm not quite sure I like it, it could be closer to the actual character I inspired his face off...Now he kinda looks like he could be Sheploo's brother.

I agree he's large, but he's no larger and chubbier-faced than the sorts of men who enter those global strongman contests. Maybe James is into that sort of stuff.

This pretty much. Well put. He DOES look more esteticly pleasing. But, are everyone good looking? No. What's wrong with having him look bit chubbier from face?

I posted this in the alternative appearance pack for the collector edition, but with the flood of replies it didn't get noticed.
I don't understand the need to make everybody look like models.  Some ME characters should have male pattern baldness.  So this is my attempt, it is based on Jason Statham.  He's reasonable attractive looking, but rugged looking, and looks like a hard hitting soldier.

I don't see what's wrong with the original face. I know a guy who looks a lot like that, even the nose. 

The alteration is nice, and he's certainly more attractive, but why did it need to change at all? Does everyone in the military need to be super-model attractive?  Can't we have some average looking people kicking ass, like they do in the real military? 

Do you people really need every character to be hyper attractive for you to connect to them? What if it doesn't fit the character concept or dialogue? I'd rather have a consistent and well flushed out character than one who is prettified just for the sake of having a more mainstream nose and longer face.

I like the original Vega. He looks the way he should for how we know he'll act. He's quite calm and his glare's a bit stupid, but he looks like he could punch a hole in a tank and take a good hit.

After Ashley's little makeover, any complaint that Vega is ugly should be valid. It should be a totally reasonable concern. Mind you, I never agreed that Ashley was ugly before the makeover, but she got an undeniable... treatment.

In video games, the ME series included, the unfortunate deep-seated rule is pretty or gtfo. I don't see why Vega should be the exception to that rule, especially if he's the token M/M option. Personally, the Big Ben sniper would be an improvement 100%. No supermodel required, no way.

does anyone remember seeing wrex for the first time? i wasnt interested at all in some stereotypical brute. even his dumb red armor just made me like him less.

as it turns out, wrex is my favorite character in the ME universe.

if vega has a personality that isnt just, i work out alot and use shotguns, ill be content. atleast its not going to be some totally bonkers over the top comic book type character like jack.

Very well done OP. However, I prefer the original. The re-working I Think makes him look more gears of war than than people are complaining about the original
