Granted, I like them both, but Vega is a tank; an experienced Systems Alliance grunt who serving with Shep to protect Earth, not a special agent with biotics and beauty encoded in his genes. I'm so sick and tired that everyone Shep recuits has to be special snowflakes with a mysterious background and good looks.

I really like both of your designs, first little bit more than second. Only problem is that now when I see real Vega I think for couple of seconds "that's not Vega"

Don't get me wrong, what you did is not awful, but not everyone in the world needs to look "ideal" to us. He is just another Systems Alliance grunt, and his appearance perfectly reflects that. He doesn't really need to look lean and handsome. He needs to look like a soldier.

It makes everything more grounded, I think.

Maybe beacause the character is a generic bulky human marine?

If i want i can add a cybernetic arm,  dreadlocks, facial tattoo and make his skin darker... but then he will look like a space pirates and not a soldier

I have a theory that Vega actually is a cyborg. Pumped up with reaper tech and planted in the alliance by cerberus. Just completely unfounded speculation but I think there will be something special about him that ties him to the main story. Plus if any squadmate is going to unavoidably betray shep, it's more likely to be a newbie.

He actually looked better on the alternate appearance pack image...His face looked different. Why did they make him more douchey?
