"The Trade Way - Many 32x32 areas,"

Have you thought about that? 32x32 areas are generally considered not good for server performance. Your screens look good, so waiting to see the new ones.

Hey,

Yes, I have done some optimization of these areas and so far they seem to run fine. I designed the trade way areas so they could be easily shrunk down to 24x24 if they turn out to run too slowly for multiplayer. A few transitions would need to be moved, but nothing too serious.
Initially I may set the server to a 20 player limit and see how that goes. If anyone has any advice for improving performance on 32x32 areas, I would appreciate it. I am aware of how some PWs turn off shadow casting on objects for areas, but I would really prefer to not do this as it deters from visual quality.

I just wanted to post a small update. This project is still being worked on, it will be released at some point but I cannot give an exact release date. If anyone would like to help with area building or detailing, please let me know. I could really use some help.

You should release as quickly as practical, even if it's not totally complete. You will get more people interested, and potentially get people willing to contribute after trying and deciding they like it.

Waiting to have something like this "done" before releasing is like waiting for the price on a new computer to get "better" before buying.

Time passes and you never actually get anything because there's always something more to do, or another $5 price drop around the corner.

I may do that, Kamal. Start the server to let people walk around and see the work done so far, then maybe get a few interested contributors that way.
