We spent a lot of time arguing about what features we would like back in ME3 - but one thing we don't talk about as much are those features which, if they were actually in ME3, would make us tinge with regret over the $60, 50€ etc. we will end up paying for the game.

To that end, this thread is about the features we find, essentially anti-fun. Features that might look good on paper (or not even that) that would just negatively impact the game if they were in.

I don't want any reapers in my game. None at all.

Mandatory mini-games. (Yes that includes planet scanning)

Optional - Great! Otherwise NO please. Image IPB

You know, I wish Bioware would replace the paragon/renegade metre with paragon-renegade tone indicators.

They'd be useless as tone indicators they are vague, inconsistent concepts anyway.

I'd rather they do away with the morality system entirely.  It made sense in KOTOR and Jade Empire, but Mass Effect isn't either of those games.  There is no Jedi/Sith or Open Palm/Closed Fist dichotomy, and the entire setup comes off as arbitrary.

Inventory, and the ability to magically carry 100 suits of armour and 500 different weapons without it encumbering me in any way.
Stats. Its not an RPG without pointless stats.
Awesome button. Dont care what it does, it just has to be labelled "Awesome!!11!"

[Paragon] Get him!
[Renegade] Take him down!

Yeah, seeing it in practice, that idea flops.

The spritual succesor of KoTOR is ME1, so... Bioware really keeps the important part of gameplay in their spiritual succesors?

They all collapse neatly into disk-sized boxes, thus you can carry them in pocket! :3

Planet scanning
Flying around in a miniature Normandy
Fuel you have to pay for
End-mission stat screens. This isn't DOOM where I want to see if I killed every monster.

I honestly don't believe why BioWare implemented above 'features'. Mass Effect is supposed to be a cinematic experience, but all the above does is break that immersion.

Go Dad's Army

Who do you think you are kidding Mr. Reaper?
If you think we're on the run,
We are the boys who will stop your little game.
We are the boys who will make you think again.
'Cus who do you think you are kidding Mr. Reaper?
If you think old Earth is done?

Mr. Brown goes off to town
On the 8:21.
But he comes home each evening
And he's ready with his gun.

So watch out Mr. Reaper
You have met your match in us.
If you think you can push us
We're afraid you've missed the bus.

so who do you think you are kidding Mr. Reaper?
If you think old Earth is done,

That's cool.

Not having this in ME3, would be another.

Edit: To be clear, I'd like to have something like that acknowledged in ME3.

And I've been thinking about this for a bit.

The one thing I least want is having the ME1 weapon cooldown system return or a hybrid system in ME3.

Gameplay mechanics with Thermal Clips can be improved. We can have tweaks as simple as improving the pickup rate for heavy pistols and sniper rifles without making drastic changes.

Kinect - Read something out loud to then have Shepherd actually say something completely different? If it actually replaced what Shepherd said, then sure, but otherwise it seems like a waste of time and resources. Will anyone actually play the game that way for long? Will anyone actually buy the game because it lets you read the screen out loud?

Multiplayer - Waste of resources in a narrative driven single player game. Maybe if it had an economy like Dead Rising 2, and it was just themed min-games, but it's unlikely to have an economy of note, and there's little room for minigames. Again, I don't see this as anything but a waste of resources and time.

Emails - I prefer my "Consequences" to not be strongly worded text, I prefer them to actually be consequences.

Ugly red screen edges - it just looked silly.

Mission Complete Screens - For a large variety of reasons, not the least of which being they went out with the Arcades for a reason, and it wasn't because they were great.

Useless and pointless filler combat every 2 minutes, becouse they think that people get bored if they have to do something, that does not include turkeyshooting.

Trying to add Awesome effect to everything and overdoing it so badly, that it looks stupid.

Kinect - useful, makes me glad i am PC gamer
Planet scanning - boring and frustrating as hell, i want my space exploration with Mako back
Multiplayer - it does't belong in trilogy, i want best Single Player experience
Armor - i want my entire squad to actualy wear an armor on the battlefield not to play a role model
S/S Romances - turning established charachters in bisexual, because people want it (aside from Jack, leave old charachters alone and focus on new ones instead please)

Seeing Jack take on to many characteristics from Ashley and Gillian

Liara gaining a other super power ( being extremly young she is a respected prothean rechearcher and later becoming a famous information broker afther saying she preferes artifacts because they usually don't talk back). I yust don't want a me:3 scene were Liara stares intesly at a reaper closes her hand their is some blue smoke and the reaper explodes.

Pretty much.

Add the Omni-blade to that list.
