There does seem to be a slight similarity between the Qunari and the aliens in this Twilight Zone episode.

Honestly? First time I heard this sentence in-game, that episode is what I immediately thought about. And each time I hear it, it comes back, complete with music. No wonder I can't take the Chantry seriously.

I doubt they kill people to eat them, or eat humans specifically. But when someone dies, if the body can still be made edible, why not? Qunari are practical like that.

I think the Quanari suffer from low blood sugar. Thats why they are always cranky.

Perhaps you confused their eating habits with the darkspawn? It's been mentioned they eat bodies.

I do have to say that when I first heard the Qunari refer to humans as "bas," I immediately thought of sheep (which may be a fitting word considering human behavior sometimes). So, maybe that is where the rumor of people-consumption comes from. Humans are just tasty little lamb chops, ready for a dollop of mint jelly and a side of mashed potatoes.
