Still too much. Cerberus is irrelevant when Reapers are in town.

It is a bit ridiculous. If I wanted to learn more about Cerberus, I'd just read the damn books.
Even that's getting out of hand.

That is enemy composition for ME3 FYI.

Better, considering that Drew isn't a comic book writer.

It may have still involved just as much Cerberus stuff. The lead writer doesn't get to decide the main plot all on their lonesome. Both Casey Hudson and Preston Watamaniuk (lead designer for the series) are part of deciding what the central story will be, and both of 'em outrank the lead writer. Plus, 2 of the 3 ME novels Drew wrote are very Cerberus-centric. I somehow doubt Walters was responsible for that.

I see this thread is full with Cerberus haters.
Shepard needs to be flying around galaxy trying to figure out how to beat Reapers and "I love Cerberus" T-shirt is not going to help, if you need to meet important people and to make allies. They are busy with Reapers, so Shepard needs to be someone important. Cerberus stuff could work if all you need is to recruit Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.

In a galactic civilization with trillions of citizens at war with Lovecraftian robot monsters from space, how are a few hundred members of the worst secret organization ever supposed to be a major threat?

Cerberus probably has the more information on the Reapers than any other organization or single person. Would you prefer for Shepard to be fighting Reapers blindly with little information regarding them.Kekkis wrote...

Where have you been? Mac took over lead writer duties about halfway through ME2's development.

My big gripe is that they somehow have the numbers to be this much of a problem.

This sums up Cerberus.

Cerberus is a human organization.
The Mass Effect story is from the human perspective.

agreed, more aliens and less cerberus and humanity in general. They're the least interesting part about the setting
Humanity isn't going to be stepping out of the limelight as we're "the only hope." How many Reaper plans have the other races foiled? The aliens are cannon fodder to buy time for humanity, specifically Shepard, to work out how to kill the things.
P.S. can we have the option to inform the aliens of this fact?
