First off, this is my third time playing the game.

So... as we all know, the second waves of dossiers includes Thane, Samara, and Tali. Once you get two of these characters the Illusive Man is supposed to give you a ring and tell you about a Collector ship.

I have recruited all three of these characters (and all other available characters) and I have not heard from him. So, I did a few side missions as well, and still nothing.

I should note that the primary differences from this character and the other two characters I have played the game with are that this time I'm playing with lady-Shepard, and I also used the motion-comic Genesis-thing to play out what happened in the first game for my character. I'm also an Engineer this time (my other two characters are a Soldier and an Adept).

Help, please.

I can't remember exact numbers but you have to do 4-5 missions of any style to trigger the Collector ship mission. If you have done over this then you have hit a glitch and will need to either start another game or restart from previous save say back near Horizon.

I would eliminate character class out of the possibility of suspects (from personal experience I have played through on all classes and never came across this issue); and I would also eliminate gender as well (have played through as both as well with no issue). As you suggest, you don't recruit all three before the Collector ship mission.

The only variable to me is Genesis, as I don't have that myself. mcsupersport's suggestion seems to be the way to go. Sometimes clearing the cache might help as well but I don't profess to know whether that will help in your case.

I'ts my understanding that this only happens if you have done 3 or more loyalty missions.

If you recruit all 3 characters then only 2 loyalty missions are needed

(It may be more complicated than that and I do not know what impact dlc has)

If you were planning to skip the loyalty missions in order to kill off your crew, I'm afraid you have to do at least a couple

Try some and see what happens.  If you've completed all the loyalty missions and nothing happens then it's a bug and you have to try from an earlier save point
