why is mass effect so great? Its hard to imagine how one video game could create such facination with world that seems so familiar to everyone. So really. Most people when hearing about Mass Effect may or may not have been overly excited. I may have been, honestly, in the latter. I didn't really understand it at first but was excited because of the game's develpers. See I have played Baldur's Gate and Knights of the Old republic. Both games immersed me in their universe. So when hearing about Mass Effect I had to at least try it out. Especially as it was the developers first Next Gen game. Was anxious to see if they could deliver.
First impression... the load screen... making your history. Genius. The fact that this game transported people to a universe that, in theory, existed (our own galaxy) grabbed me right away. Every mission made you seem like yes, humanity is new to this enormous galaxy. Yet here we are thriving and making momentous decisions that could shape the galaxy. The second game was very much the same feeling, different gameplay, mind you, but still gave the people the same over all feeling.
It was, and still is a very personal gaming experience, likely the most personal EVER!
So the point of this thread? Well I just finished visting nasa.gov and browsed past missons, future missions and made me realize how amazing the universe is and how far, really, humanity has come in such a short time line. Is it not possible to achieve Mass Effect esque feats? Likely, at least in our life time.
But the game of mass effect drives the wonder in the generations in targets (even if I am just a 28 year old tradesmen). The more we wonder and imagine the more humanity will accomplish
Mass Effect 3 will complete our characters saga. But it will not complete each Mass Effect's fan the wonder they have of the universe above them and how we may someday reach them
Anyway...
Im excited about Mass Effect 3. Thats pretty much how my crazy talk sums it up
