Meh. Both versions look douche. If there's a Vrimire choice, I guess Vega will guard the bomb this time.
But then, your subconscious will trick you and you'll go save the bomb guy. Your only hope is to trick your subconscious into thinking he went the other way.

More evil than retarded now, twisted and machine.
IggyD, you have my support. You made him look passable. I still don't like him, but that is just me.

This is BSN where everyone's opinion counts in large amounts.ThePwener wrote...

Also, did you ever consider that perhaps the retarded avatar look is intentional.
Edit: fixed it for ya!

The various modifications to Isabela were met with great scorn when she was first revealed. Why are the male characters a different case?
Because the people who tweaked Isabela were obviously misogynists that only care about their female companion looking good. And since Social Justice conventional thought says misandry doesn't exist due to the fact that men, as a gender, haven't been repressed due to their malehood, no one gets pissed at the double standard.
Or BSN is full of people that are equally full of hypocrisy.

"Well, there was a chance I was going to use that character, but now....."
The characters I disliked most in Mass Effect 2 had tattoos.
Zaeed Massani and Subject Zero.
Which gave me the opinion that if a character in Mass Effect has tattoos, that's a warning sign that I'm not going to like them.
And oh look, what does James Vega have on his neck?
First chance I get, Garrus is going to replace him on the squad.
I also think it's too close to Kai Leng (who also appears in Mass Effect 3).
It's going to be odd that they both have tattoos on their necks.
P.S: Don't start another rabid fan debate about Zaeed with me.
I'm getting rather tired of people saying how awesome he is and how I must like him and how I'm doomed in Mass Effect because he's dead in my saved game.

Maybe to some people.
I actually liked that they changed Isabela's face and proportions for Dragon Age II.
The picture of Vega in GameInformer however long ago, didn't look very detailed. Neither did that really small picture advertising the collector's edition.
So, pretty much anything they could have come up with by now, would look much better to a number of people.

Anyway, I'm not going to decide Vega's "fate" simply based on his appearance. What the hell kind of person would be so shallow as to off someone simply because they don't find them attractive? *realises where she is* ... Ah. Well, that certainly explains a lot. *raises her hand* CHECK, PLEASE!
Eh, Bioware's got 7 months and a few weeks to still work on stuff. Maybe they'll take some suggestions to heart (they do say they listen to their fans, but how much, I do not know) and change his look. In the end, it's up to Bioware. They either will or they won't. I'm certainly not going to waste any sleep worrying over his final appearance. Besides, there are far worse things to be concerned with, like being unable to fast-forward through commercials during live TV. That's just unacceptable, by any standards.

Oh, good! So I'm not the only who noticed that! I find it a little annoying that the "solution" for some people with Vega is to make him look more like an average, white American male. I mean, really? Grey/blue eyes? More chiseled jaw?
This is almost as bad as that guy who complained that Isabella in Dragon Age II was "too ethnic."

To be fair, he looks average and white regardless.
This is just my opinion here, so you're welcome to disagree, but to me he looks Hispanic. Definitely not white.

Yeah, I don't really see that at all. Maybe it's residual from when I saw him with light blue eyes and a pinkish complexion in the AAP concept image.
I never saw the original concept art. Any pics? I'm curious now.
And I don't know, to me his skin is a bit light but his facial features seem Hispanic. Especially the nose and lips. That might just be my perception considering my own family members have similar facial features as he does.

The eye color and skintone doesn't necessarily mean anything regarding his ethnicity, but remember that back then his name was also 'James Sanders' (augh, such a boring name).

I think the redesign is an interesting take, but I don't think it enhances anything (I only have issues with his caveman brow, flared nostrils, and severe eyes). I find Vega in general to be a very bland concept taken from the dudebro shooter handbook.
