He looks like a frat guy I would not want to leave my drink around. I hate that i'm so judgmental about him but he looks so scary.

I think this version looks more appealing. Maybe the in-game look will grow on me, I don't know. At least it's better than the small photos we first saw of him. Still, I like the OP's edit more at this point.

I think the original would look better with a mustache, regardless of anything else.

For the last time: you don't need steroids to be in the shape Vega is in.

-_-;

The proportions of the character are terrible to say the least. I was using Chris Redfield, which was also a mess as an example.

His proportions are fine.

Chris Redfield on the other hand...

There's nothing wrong with Chris Redfield.  His exaggerated proportions serve a stylistic purpose.  He was never intended to be a photo-realistic human.  It's like complaining about the spirals and absurd proportions featured in Disney's Hercules.

Don't get me wrong, I find Chris to be very aesthetically pleasing. I'm just saying that in real life, if you wanted to be in the shape he's in, you'd pretty much have to go the way of steroids. The same isn't true of Vega: his body can be naturally achieved.

Oh, okay.  Yeah.  Placing Chris Redfield's body in ME3 wouldn't necessarily fit the style already laid out by the prior games.

I say he needs to loose weight. Loose some muscle mass. Grow his hair out. Dye it blonde. And get a fancy steel claw weapon. And wear a mask to protect his lovely features.

I think the chin is way too big. Like...just imagine it without the facial hair.

I've only seen a fuzzy picture of what his armor looks like, and it looks like something from Unreal Tourney's Juggernaut team would wear, instead of something out of the Mass Effect universe. Is it still so, or does it actually look like a Mass Effect combat hardsuit now?

I have a bad feeling it's gonna stay, since Unreal Tourney still hasn't heard about getting their Manta back.

To be honest, the hair is what ruins the design. When I see a faux-hawk, I am constantly reminded of immaturity, and that is probably why I am steered away from this character. I need serious people on my team if I want to destroy the reapers. I pray that Bioware make this character useful in terms of combat and full of depth in terms of personality, because the last two human male squadmates bored me into oblivion. A reason as to why I went with a Turian instead. (Well Kaiden was OK, but he always died on me in combat, ahem; no pun intended)

Did the original vega come from the planet of the apes or just simply didn't go through evolution like the rest of us did? He looks like an ape, ape escape!

I like the second one much better.  He looks like a guy who consults a mirror in the morning before he goes outside.

Unless the point is that he doesn't give two greasy ****s about his appearance.   In which case I like the first one more.

::Continues to pray for 'dreadlocks' as a hairstyle in ME3::

Holy hell, from what I've heard the new Dante from the Devil May Cry reboot has it way worse. They managed to tweak the hair for the in-game model in the latest E3 gameplay trailer (which actually looks pretty cool) but it's apparently too late: the damage is done.
