I was looking on one of the threads about what major decions people made in the ME universe and I'm curious why so many people choose to re-program/brainwash the geth heritics. The main reason I think people chose to do so is more geth to fight the reapers. But did no one consider the downside as well? Legion states that theres nothing to stop them from "coming to same conclusion" to follow the reapers. Legion also says that IF they were to be re-programed, when they re-join the true geth the heritics memories and experinces will be shared with the true geth. And with what Legion said ealier in mind, that could even cause ALL of the geth join the Reapers in order to reach their goal....

Alot to consider when choosing to "re-write" the heritcs. Another thing is in the codex is says that the heritcs is probly only about 5% of the geth numbers...So re-writing the heritcs wouldn't really bolster the geth number by much to fight the reapers anyway.

I think the much safer and better option is to destroy them. Alowing the true geth's logic that "all specis should selfdeterminate" and "build their own future" be currupted by the herics is too much of a risk imo

Is there any other reason poeple chose to re-write the geth heritcs other than "more forces to fight reapers"?
Either way I'm curious of other people's motivs for their choices...

Don't know if BW would screw you over for picking a paragon option, your point is logically very sound,Wiping out the violent minority or giving them a chance join the indifferent majority and possibly change them, smart money blows them up,but paragon impulse rewrites

Isolated platforms. The virus will only infect them if they are uploaded to the network. Legion states this somewhere in dialog

But he says the blast it gives off will transmit it to the geth in the other systems.

I think neither is right or wrong. Instead both choices will have pros/cons to them, but neither one will be definitively 'right'.

Theres also the fact that the experience the geth gained during their foray with Saren round the galaxy will be invaluable to the others. Were talking tech and even philosophies. The illusive man was practically salivating at the prospect of getting his hands on the collector ship - think of the magnitude of the collective intelligence on the reapers the geth will have picked up :-D

Interesting to see how this played out. I'm never right about anything.
