It's about how well written these things are and DA:O is miles ahead of DA2 in terms of quality writing.
Someone made a comment about having two statues in your house. I'm guessing they mean Merrill and Anders.
I didn't have that problem with the LI's in dao, talking about misc. things or a hug/kiss can go a long way. Ah well.
I don't think any department got the time needed for da2...but water/bridge.

now that i think of it even if they added that random make out feature from origins it would have made the romance department 10x better or even like a frisky ass slap maneuver hehehe that would have been funny
LMAO! I just imagined Anders trying to save someone's life in his clinic and Hawke just walking past and slapping his ass.

I don't think she needed the huge knockers and wouldn't mine if she would cover up her underwear. It shouldn't have took 3 years to get her in bed:huh:
Didn't like Hawke confessing his love for Isabela after casual sex to romance her. I was extremely pissed after she confesses her love for you and later on tries to sleep with Zevran I mean really WTF Isabela!
I still romance her in all my playthroughs she's not obsessed with her problems like everyone else and I wish their was more romantic buildup though

Merrill.
Honestly I can't even bring myself to romance anyone else without it bringing me pain, because I love Merrill that much.
As much as I love DAO's female LIs, Merrill took the number one spot for me.
I'm also one of the most vocal Merrill supporters.

My second playthrough well...my mage might end up spending most of her time in the blooming rose with a repeatable encounter. Fenris...uhm no thanks given his anti-mage attitude and smary line about compatent women. Right bucko that won you points, the blooming rose is that a way. Anders is an abomination...squick city, and I didn't like him in Awakening anyway. Sebastion only if he dumps the chastity bit...or can be convinced to do so. The lasses are lasses and not in the runing. Besides except from the point of view of pure sexual gratifaction Fenris is a no go from the perspective of someone who wants political power to ensure that the templars stay well and truely away from her. Sebastion as prince of starhaven is of course vastly more interesting....
My third playthrough well I was going to go for Avaline but apparently that doesn't work so I've no idea. This is going to be a much more anti-mage Hawke then the other two.
I could do with more human options when it comes down to it. But in DA:O Zev only made sense when I was playing my city elf, outside of that it was death and shoo for him. Same in mass effect...at one point I thought I was going to throw the controller since every damn alien seemed to be hitting on my shepard...and Tali (who Merril is a lot like)...nearlly squicked me out good since she really comes across as your "kid sister." The Tali hug was pure awesome...the Tali come on conversation something much different.
The only good thing is that at least I didn't mess up the Isabella romance like I did when I tried for the Lilanna one. The two lines that start that I remember looking at thinking for the first one that it was too much "dirty old man" sort of line and hardly what I would say to someone I was interested in and the second one "why would I mention an old flame to her at this time?" So I only managed to trigger the romance when I didn't want to on a different character and stupidly enough just after her and Lilanna had just giggled over Alistar together. The big heart symbol at least ensured I knew which line to say to get Isabella.
Morrigan changes into a spider...uhm no. Just no. Bleach is necessary for that.

Darth Traya for the win! lol.

one moment I'm helping the mages (well der I'm a mage...)
The next he's going on about how he's in love with you, its like NO I AM NOT GAY.
None of the female characters just suddenly come onto other female characters... Merril doesn't do that does she? It was really bad...

There were no good choices, I had to choose between the dirty pirate **** who can't keep her legs closed for even one second, and a stupid elf who acts like a 14 year old and practices dark magic. And frankly, I was offended by the ridiculous extent of homosexuality and how every dude you hang out with besides Varric is flaming gay and has the hots for Hawke.
.........
Fenris is anything but flaming. Even Anders isn't flaming. I'm a straight male and I have absolutely no problem with the sexuality of the companions. I even play gay characters. Why not? It's an option in the game. It's a character, not YOU. And am I the only guy who likes to play female characters? Maybe it's the writer in me. As a writer, I write female characters and have no problem playing a game as one. It changes the game completely. There's just something different about a female protagonist. This is still an RPG, right?

+1. People over-reacted completely to the whole all companions are bi thing. You have one conversation with Anders about it where you just let him down nicely and get a piddling +10 rivalry. And Fenris never even mentioned it to me. And though I couldn't play a female char in DA:2, I did in Origins, and you definately aren't the only one.

Isabella is my main option, because she's very likeable, and not pushy, or psycho, or a child. Sure she's not exactly super-loyal, but y'know, it's not like you're married. If a female Hawke, Fenris is also a good option, because he's highly intelligent and quite likeable underneath all the "STAB TEVINTER MAGES!!!!" stuff (and honestly, who doesn't want to stab Tevinter mages?).
Personally, I can't stand Merill to the point where I used her and dumped her (finally getting Rival!) last time I played through. She's childish, a bit thick despite her high regard for her own brainpower, extremely arrogant, quite needy, and generally an annoyance. Only her nice voice makes her remotely bearable. I genuinely don't understand why people like her, unless it's that she's pretty vulnerable, in a sort of "lost child" way, and that's exactly what I dislike about her.

Nope you aren't the only guy who likes to play female characters. I play as both and like to see how the experience is different as a female.
I think my favorite playthrough of Origins is probably my female dual wield warrior who romanced Alistair. His chivalry in the end sequence of the game is a gaming moment that ranks up there in the very best moments of gaming for me.

I like when the experience of a game with another playthrough is different. When everything is exactly the same, it sucks.
So I do not touch women with a female character since I have already tried with a male. It's as if I was playing a man with a chest. The same experience. Isabella is no longer bi in my eyes, it has become a generic character with no sexual identity like the others. I hate "they are all bi."
Anders, I do not want to see him again in my game, a character inconsistent, and there is something to write a paragraph about him.I killed him. If he is still alive in my game for the next episode with another unexplained ressurection, I will refer DA3 in the Bioware' s mailbox with a bomb.
Fenris is the only one that can interest my femhawk actually. But for that, I would have to play again DA2. But DA2 has no replayability, so no. I've never tried. And probably, I will never try.

A) Threatening to bomb people, even as a joke, doesn't fit any definition of "irony".

Do you realize what you say ? Stop to take you seriously and take people for fools. Because quite frankly it's your reaction that's silly. Relax, take a drink.
We should stop there, I have no respect for this kind of theoretical insignificance.

I also don't advocate violence unless it is: Controlled one on one experience where both combatants are willing participants, preferably with no weapons, and no permanent injuries to either party. Or self defense, in which case anything goes.

I guess it's because every LI had to fit every (plausible) orientation.
