Being homosexual is a choice. Period. We are not animals in the sense that we aren't sapient. There are two genders. For our species to continue these genders need to procreate, We aren't monkeys swinging from a tree who are devoid of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. If you like other men, that's fine it's your life and you have the free will to make that choice. However don't tell me that choice was made for you unwillingly. That's insulting my intelligence.

Or don't go out and do this and don't enjoy it.
Either way works.

first of all their arent to many gays in the military their are even less in the Marine, and Second it would be even more impossible for their to be a homosexual in the infantry ecspecially as some one as experienced as Vega is made out to be.
Having served as a rifleman in an infantry battalion (with a girl as our squad MG3 gunner) I call bull**** on every statement you just made.
The US military in general has an attitude problem in regards to gay people. It's a cultural problem that will dissipate over time. Just as racial segregation gradually dissipated.
They weren't so tough when they came over here to practice winter warfare in northern norway during the cold response exercise and 30% had to sit it out due to frost injuries though. -50 degrees C shuts people up pretty nicely.

But you already have the option, simply do not show anything more than a friendly/professional interest in any character and you are unlikely to discover that they are gay/bi/shepard-sexual.
In mass effect 2 both Miranda and Garrus do not show an interest in you until you initiate dialogue that suggests you are romantically interested in them. Just do not pick that dialoge option and you will never know.
Why? Because you haven't personally, to your knowledge, met a gay marine? Considering the policy on being openly gay in the US military I'm not surprised. That said, are you telling me right now, that there's no way a gay man would join the Marines out of a sense of duty, and a desire to protect the freedoms of a country he loves just as much as you?

It is not an opinion. It is a fear. There is a name for it: Homophobia. Like any other phobia it can be cured. It's your choice to keep that fear.STEELWOLF86 wrote...
you know i started this just so i could voice my opinion on the topic in hopes that Bioware would do something that would be fair to both sides but now seeing all this fighting just to have an option that would change the dialog so that you can still talk to your squadmates with out even hinting their sexual orientation seems like a fair compromise for the strait and the gays dont know why you guys keep on fighting

Wrong. If only been out of the USAF for 2 years. I didn't know what true racism and discrimination was until after I graduated from basic.

The fact that a woman has won the medal of honor, and he still made that earlier statement says a lot about the ops mindset.
Here OP, a link to a page listing some of the Medals your sisters in arms have earned: http://userpages.aug...arb/medals.html

I have a theory that the people who says homosexuality is a choice are really closeted homosexuals suppressing their desires, so for them it is a choice. They choose to live a life of self-loathing, repression and denial, jealously lashing out at those who had the fortune to be raised in an environment that didn't demand aggressive self-deception. Ted Haggard, George Rekers and Larry Craig seem to support the pattern.RinjiRenee wrote...

Homosexuality is lust plain and simple. Me wanting to **** a girl for the sake of ****ing a girl is lust all the same.
Go make out with a man out of lust, and enjoy it. Then you may say homosexuality is a choice.

Hmm..... well one of the few people I know that were actually in the military while I knew them was bisexual. And that was before "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was repealed. Also, this is how many years into the future? Surely attitudes about such trivial things as orientation have progressed by then. Also, the title of this made me lol because all I could think of was Shep going "No ****** bro, no ******!"
Repealing it was a step toward fixing the problem.
