first of all their arent to many gays in the military their are even less in the Marine, and Second it would be even more impossible for their to be a homosexual in the infantry ecspecially as some one as experienced as Vega is made out to be.
Having served as a rifleman in an infantry battalion (with a girl as our squad MG3 gunner) I call bull**** on every statement you just made.
The US military in general has an attitude problem in regards to gay people. It's a cultural problem that will dissipate over time. Just as racial segregation gradually dissipated.
They weren't so tough when they came over here to practice winter warfare in northern norway during the cold response exercise and 30% had to sit it out due to frost injuries though. -50 degrees C shuts people up pretty nicely.

Right? I've seen a lot of that going around. I've been called one early on. Why? because I don't agree with certain peoples lifestyle? I'm not even some rabid fundamentalist. If some people want to be gay have at it. Because I take the nurture side of the argument instead of the nature? People resort to mud slinging when they're desperate.

I know right? It's such nonsense!
The "it's a choice argument" stems from instances of people making the switch and in some instances doing so multiple times. Guy straight as a rod goes to prison, comes out more curved than a spiral. Girl gets mad at ex, goes lesbo, gets dissappointed with lesboship, goes straight again. And both will deny being bi.
But my argument is invalid because I refuse to go out and suck a ****. I wish I was as smart as you.

Well then stop forcing your hateful anti-homosapien agenda on us!
I'd explain the joke you missed but its funnier if I don't.
So gays would be a distraction on your crew, but not women in skin tight cameltoed high heeled catsuits. Or angry krogans in heat down in the hold. Or scary tattooed people who could kill you with their brains. Or hyperfriendly omni-sexual ships councillors. Or knowing your ship's cook also cleans your toilet.
No relationship in ME has ever started without you starting it. Your 'option' is always there. So you'd have no way of knowing anyone was gay or not unless you talked about it. Clearly you're distracting yourself.
A man like you who is in the cerrent day military with woman who see woman fight and die bravly and save their fellow solders think they do not belong even after the fact they proved themselves man times over..... My god, you are a disgrace to you fellow solders. In war, it's not the coloe, race, sex, or oriantation that matters....It the will to serve and you know that and that's why you joined the marines, you want to serve you country. Think of how others feel on the issue, every race, sex and oriantation. So you don't worry about your fellow man and woman at arm....you worry about the enemy in front of you who wants to kill you. The last time too worried about ourselves....we lost a war. And one other thing....if you don't ask, they can't tell you.

People all i want is for their to be an option thats it nothing more but you ass holes want to say im wrong for wanting that well all i can say is for you guys not to get so but hurt so easily
But you already have the option, simply do not show anything more than a friendly/professional interest in any character and you are unlikely to discover that they are gay/bi/shepard-sexual.
In mass effect 2 both Miranda and Garrus do not show an interest in you until you initiate dialogue that suggests you are romantically interested in them. Just do not pick that dialoge option and you will never know.
Why? Because you haven't personally, to your knowledge, met a gay marine? Considering the policy on being openly gay in the US military I'm not surprised. That said, are you telling me right now, that there's no way a gay man would join the Marines out of a sense of duty, and a desire to protect the freedoms of a country he loves just as much as you?
US Navy, sorry but I do understand.

So you're saying that people only become gay after a traumatic experience?
Not
to mention that mentally "straight" people can have sex with the same
gender without changing his or her perceived sexuality? The key is
whether or not they ENJOY it and PREFER it.
So if you go out, suck a ****, and enjoy it, then you are either gay or bisexual. If you don't, then you are straight.

In fact a better post/thread would've been for a general request to make the flirtation options, almost blindingly obvious, as some people have (in a way I can not figure out) managed to romance people they didn't mean to supposedly because the dialogue is vague (Again I don't see how) so having pink hearts around the flirt option would easily prevent that from occuring though it would be a case of making things so obvious that it'd annoy other people.
Edit:
I'm also impressed with how you keep moving the goal posts.
first it was that gay's don't exist in the infantry, then you had to say that there were very few.
Next was the claim that none of us were military thus we couldn't understand, then I and others said we were, and you claimed that we weren't military enough...
I think you need to step away from the computer and take some time to think through how you are presenting yourself and your viewpoints before you say anything else on these boards.

Well they're making friendship options so that should keep them straight if that's what you wish. Besides once s/s relationships were announced it was already too late. The amount of complaints Bioware would get for removing or changing dialogue would be much more harsh than if they keep it on this track. I have faith Bioware won't have another Anders problem.STEELWOLF86 wrote...
you know i started this just so i could voice my opinion on the topic in hopes that Bioware would do something that would be fair to both sides but now seeing all this fighting just to have an option that would change the dialog so that you can still talk to your squadmates with out even hinting their sexual orientation seems like a fair compromise for the strait and the gays dont know why you guys keep on fighting
