But you already have the option, simply do not show anything more than a friendly/professional interest in any character and you are unlikely to discover that they are gay/bi/shepard-sexual.

In mass effect 2 both Miranda and Garrus do not show an interest in you until you initiate dialogue that suggests you are romantically interested in them. Just do not pick that dialoge option and you will never know.

Why? Because you haven't personally, to your knowledge, met a gay marine? Considering the policy on being openly gay in the US military I'm not surprised. That said, are you telling me right now, that there's no way a gay man would join the Marines out of a sense of duty, and a desire to protect the freedoms of a country he loves just as much as you?

i get what your saying man and i have met a gay marine but none of which are in the infantry because their will never be any openly gay men in the infantry if you were part of the military you would no why so i cant expect for any of you to understand

At risk of putting this thread back on track, and posting seriously. In a game its a choice. Though a hetrosexual myself, I have played through same sex options in game. Had nothing to do with orientation or desire and everything to do with roleplaying decisions and wanting to see game content I haven't seen before.

I'll often let my characters decide their partners, not based on gender, but personality and who they mesh the most interesting with.

My god, you are a disgrace to you fellow solders. In war, it's not the coloe, race, sex, or oriantation that matters....It the will to serve and you know that and that's why you joined the marines, you want to serve you country. Think of how others feel on the issue, every race, sex and oriantation. So you don't worry about your fellow man and woman at arm....you worry about the enemy in front of you who wants to kill you. The last time too worried about ourselves....we lost a war. And one other thing....if you don't ask, they can't tell you.

first of all you need to shut the hell up if you were never their to fight ive seen alot of females apart of the military yeah ill agree with you their are some that rate to be called marine but then i see hundreds of females still acting the same as if they were still in high school being walking matresses dont think any of you nasty civilians know anything about the military if you yourself have never done anything then shut up and quit wasting your time because you lil pieces of s**t are whats ruining this country talking about something they arent even apart of dont you dare say im a disgrace ive given everything away to my corps and country i dont even see my family any more so dont you say im wrong when you yourself have never done s**t with your lives other then stay at home

You know what I whish I whish bioware mods would ban everyone thats posting in these threads i'll gladly take the ban if it will stop this crap on these boards i'm tired of seeing it over and over again and im shure the mods are tired of dealing with it. This used to be a fun place to visit not not anymore BOTH sides need to take a step back and stop.

I have baned my son from visiting these boards because of this. These boards used to be a fun place now ill get info from the update threads and hope bioware bans all those that seem to jump in and keep these threads going till mods close the thread.

Having served as a rifleman in an infantry battalion (with a girl as our squad MG3 gunner) I call bull**** on every statement you just made.

The US military in general has an attitude problem in regards to gay people. It's a cultural problem that will dissipate over time. Just as racial segregation gradually dissipated.

They weren't so tough when they came over here to practice winter warfare in northern norway during the cold response exercise and 30% had to sit it out due to frost injuries though. -50 degrees C shuts people up pretty nicely.

The norwegian military happens to encourage both gays and girls to join the military. As long as they have what it takes, we have no problems with it. I'll be honest and say that 90 % of the women that joins do not have what it takes to be in a combat unit, but the ones who do are tough as hell. If you want to deny them the opportunity then it's you loss.

And -50 is no joke if you've seen what frost injuries can do to a person. saw a guy wearing fingergloves after an exercise once. his fingers were purple and swollen to the size of sausages..

So your saying that the men in the Mariens don't act like they are still in high school? People are different, I don't expect them all to act the same.
And I do understand, it's all about a group mentality. Your unit is a big organisum that lives bases of fellow trust. That's design to fight as one. But may question is, does it matter who the person is if they do their job right? The only time a solder has to worry about his homosexual team mateis if he hit on you, other than that he just a brother of arms, fighting and dieing next to you. And in combat that's all that matters, unity. Your disdane for the other sex and a Homosexuals in combat is a distaction in itself. The only danger in it on the field is you.

Look on the bright side, if you have female character in Mass Effect, you'll be able to have fully lesbian romance That is why I don't oppose ss romances. for Mass Effect series.

OP, I'm going to ask that you either apologize to for your outburst or stop posting until you've calmed down. By saying you are in the US military you have just presented yourself as a representation (on a forum with people from across the world) of the standard US infantrymen which reflects on the military as a whole. This outburst does nothing to promote the US military in a positive light, if you are really that angry walk away and let it go.

Prove to me your not an individual and consider how you are making the military we both serve look by posting what you have.
