So where is the actual announcement? You know, the one that they claimed would affect *all* Shepards and not just femShep fans.

What did you people expect? A huge special announcement could basically be something along these lines or a huge gameplay aspect that isn't a spoiler. Aka: multiplayer.

What they claimed was that there would be a big announcement that would affect *all* Shepards, not just female ones. Lying liars tend to tick me off. This is like the Bioware Bazaar all over again.

Actually, unless you're referring to another quote the phrase was "At the end of the march Commander Casey Hudson will announce something significant for all the Shepards out there, at the Con and at home". So the "Shepards" are the players. And we all get to vote on this, I'd say that fits the bill. I can see why you're dissapointed or pissed of, but it's hardly a lie.

BioWare does have a serious problem with marketing.

Hey there marketing guys. Slap your **** together and notice that there is a sligh diffrence between:
"At the end of this event we'll announce some, maybee not huge but still realy nice info" and
"OMFG THIS IS GOING TO BE BIG! LOOK AT US! IT'S GOING TO BE AWESUM!".

Calender fail on my part.

Wheres the love for redheads in the FemShep designs? The pictures are really hard to make out for me on Pulse, had to resort to Facebook to see them properly. Come on number 5, that and 4 are the only ones I would want on my CE case.

Not exactly big news for all gamers like my interpretation of Chris's post said but some good info has come out of it. Actions have started that shows BioWare's commitment to FemShep and more are set in the future. Plus I'm a big Jennifer Hale fan so bit jealous of the people able to go.

Well good thing I wasn't there, had I been working security and a bunch of people started screaming waving swords around I would have killed someone thinking it was a riot.

On the other hand, put those in the bioware store now, I will give you $20 bucks for one.

I was at work during all this, what was the announcement exactly? I've gleaned that it has something to do with FemShep, but what was it?

I did not hear the announcement, but from what I can google I think it was:

They posted 6 alternate femsheps on Facebook and people can vote for the one to appear in the ME3 trailer.

(I'm presuming they will still use default femshep for the collector edition case.)

Are we not supposed to talk about what the announcement is or something?

Maybe I spaced out and missed that part :?

If I'm not mistaken, the announcement is this (grabbed via Twitter):
"Vote for which version of female Shepard should be in the Mass Effect 3 on.fb.me/pN61S3 #femshep #masseffect"

I never play as Female Shepard, but I was under the impression there was a default look for her too -- why don't they just use that instead of asking which look they should go with?

It's a bone/olive-branch to the fans who thought that femshep was being shortchanged.  It's a little fun that lets the fans feel involved in the development of the game and keeps the hype-engine churning.

I think it's a good idea, although my impression was that there wasn't much different between the femsheps they offered.

This choice is to establish a default look for her not slapped together from the game's engine (Male Shep is based off a model) and also have a default Female Shep to have on one side of the CE box.

And like the other poster said, throw a bone to us Femshep fans. We have been shortchanged by the marketing in the previous two games, but this is a motion to fix that (then again, marketing had made other mistakes as well). Now, I can totally understand why Male Shep players would be underwhelmed (in part due to the wording of the teaser) but Femshep is still a very important part of Mass Effect. I don't whine when new info about ME3's combat comes out when I'm more interested in story and import transfer from the previous two games. I like all ME3 info :)

And Comic-con is very much about actually being there and some things just don't transfer over the net/vids.
