Copied everything that was said in the live blog in case anyone missed. There wasn't much anyway and zero details on the movie's actual plot/setting/timaframe, no details on cast/director etc:

1:22 Now we're on to video games!!!
1:23 Or at least a very special one....with a Mass Effect trailer!
1:25 They're in the early stages of developing the ME film but the game creators are here!
1:26 Casey Hudson and Mark Protosevich
1:26 Casey says te strength of the game comes from the characters n
1:27 Mark says gamers can be easily seduced by the visuals and cinematic qualities of a game, including gameplay.
1:28 Filmmakers try to translate this into a movie but ignore the test of whether or not the game has a strong storyline or character development.
1:28 Mark likens this to talking to a hot girl and finding out they can't carry a conversation.
1:30 Mass Effect has a universe as strong as Star Wars and LOTR. Now it's about making this into a good film.
1:31 Casey is making sure that they make sure to include scenes and ideas that they know the fans will love.
1:31 Working with Legendary has allowed them to make sure their movie will be different from other video game movies.
1:33 Strong stories and strong characters, just like other Legendary films. Making sure the ME film is good starts with good partnerships.

Frankly, what they've said could be applied to a movie about the Space Hamster. Zero details, nothing concrete.

All timezones, apart from the PST one... It's all an hour later...

EDIT: basically the ME3 event starts in 20 minutes...

it is the obvious & best choice.

disappointing they put it n the panel with no concrete details and obviously a game trailer, still none of the others had much more - paradise lost is a way out, too.

Well, looking at the plus side we now know the devs (or Mr. Hudson at least) are somehow involved in the production and not cut out of the loop, like often happens with this kind of projects...
This comforts me, as the film is less likely to be taking "tangents" (for lack of a better term...) :/

I don't know what everybody expected I guess confirmation on what it's about; but I'm happy to know it's going forward for sure, before wasn't really sure. And they're taking care about story/characters and not a direct to DVD movie. I'm all for a lot of time spent if done right.

Sorry, but ME does not have a universe 1% as strong as LoTR. I wouldn't put it as strong as Star Wars either, not by a long ways, but that's mostly because writers have been building on the EU a lot longer.

Still, I'm hoping it makes a good movie. Not convinced yet, though.
