Hi all!  Well, love what everybody did with the toolset and I'd like to edit somethings too but, well, I don't really understand how...

Lets see...  I have an "external" erf that contains an uti (an item).  (I took an item from someone else cause I mod, I'm no creator!  :P  ).  Anyway...  If I open the uti with the toolset, instead of giving me the "nice" uti editor (with the general, attributes, model appearance) like when I click on the "right" side, it only gives me a text only Name/Type/Value (with tons of things I'll probably learn what they mean later!).

For now, I just want to know how to put the "external" UTI the same way as the internal one, if possible!  If not, tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?  I just want to edit the item name or the Item Properties!  Help?

Thanks!

So you're trying to open a .uti from another mod and getting to see it on your palette window so you can edit it?

Yep! That's it!  (Or to simply edit it the same way without putting it in the palette would be ok too!)

I don't of a way to do that.  You should probably just make an item like it in the toolset unless it has a custom skin.

Thanks. Its ironic that the one with the question answered himself. But I had exactly your same doubt. Thanks.

hmm, you can't edit an item from an erf file - you'd need to import it via a Builder to Builder package.

Though if you just want to give the player a item you could use my lil Mod here too:
http://social.bioware.com/project/883/

you'd just have to create a M2DA-File and voila the item(s) appear in the chest

I've also been looking for an answer to this problem. I don't know why BioWare had to make it so complicated to simply modify something that someone else made. In particular I just wanted to change the model of some robes I downloaded because they looked silly, but I spent quite a while trying to figure out how to do it in the editor for lack of any decent tutorials on the matter.
