With the richness of the story and mythology behind this game, I was kind of hurt to see it almost abandoned. There are so many ways there can be a trilogy to this game. If the battle sequences were touched up and new characters and plot lines were made, we're looking at a 10/10 game in the making. An endless universe spanning across the heavens and the underworld. We witnessed the water dragon being knocked out of place, but what about the other gods???? Or maybe you could expand on the past and plot of some of the characters........... Maybe even finding out about the history behind some of the martial art styles????? I saw a whole other game in itself when I came across the two character's of the way of the closed fist and the way of the open palm, but nothing came from the art styles beside just learning them..... Im not trying to critique the game but rather look at how we could make another rich storyline or storylines! Maybe the Grand Strategist has a son bent in case his plan A went downhill and is hellbent on reveng and seeks the restration of his family name.....? Just an idea... Or maybe we could expand more on the plot of the heavens and more corrupt officials step out of line for the greed of more power. I mean the richness of this mythological story is the equevalent of that to god of war. And maybe even star wars! All these great ideas on mass effect and dragon age, thats nice but if we were to go back to an original and expand that we're looking at potentially endless storytime, character creation, and almost endless gameplay depending on the light and dark choices of the indvidual.:innocent: Jade empire is a great game if not my favorite. This is a game with passion and ambition that gamers haven't seen since lucas arts dreams of star wars.

This in my books is one of Bioware's best and I agree it could easily be made into a trilogy but with the original going back so many years, would it need a remake?

I know there have been mentions of a JE2 by Bioware but they didn't sound so keen on actually making it but it had so much potential. I went looking for any martial arts rpg and couldn't find anything. If in the future they're looking to create something different, I think Jade Empire is the way forward.

yeah this game is really marketable though....... Im sure when bioware is looking for something new there's a good chance they'll get back to some of the originals.

This could be a success. Much more action focused than bioware's other games (to the same level as ME2), great unique setting and awesome combat. The world was wonderful too.

I love almost everything Bioware puts out and I agree... KotOR was my FAVE RPG of all time but JE is a close second... They NEED to make a sequel and possibly a trilogy!

i read in a recent(ish) PC gamer that Bioware was thinking about a JE2, but the idea was "temporarily abandoned"

I´ve always wanted a Jade Empire 2. JE was so great in both story and martial arts. I trained judo myself in real life. So i hope Bioware´ll make JE2 after SWTOR.

knowing bioware, they probably won't abandon it forever. It would be nice if they "butcher bay"ed it and made a graphically redone version of JE1 released in the same box as JE2.

From what I read the other day it seems to be a case of wanting to use the IP correctly. If it means a good follow up then I'll wait patiently for it (no point in being impatient if you ask me).

I've been wanting a second game since i played the first allll those years ago, i really do hope they eventually make it, afterall, Jade Empire is what started my love for all things Bioware.

I saw that article in Joystiq but read that earlier this month that it was confirmed it had been in development years ago but was halted early in production, and that it would be "never started again". I'm not sure if they mean all the prior work on the project (such as specific design and story) or the franchise itself. I hope the source I read was incorrect.

As highly as I rate Jade Empire, I'm not sure it really *needs* a sequel, not that i'd be complaining if BW decide to make another. Jade empire was ended pretty well, there weren't really any loose ends. TBH I'd rather they start up another IP or perhaps expand on the Mass Effect universe.

Well I don't think that it needs a sequal too, but that doesn't mean that they can't make a new story with a new character.

It would be great if BW would do Jade Empire 2 after Mass Effect 3, I really liked the asian Style/flair of this game.

They'd just ruin the ending, making the whole series suck.  After ME3's ending I'm hoping Bioware tanks on their next projects so badly they just fold up and go away.

Jade Empire was hands down one of my all time favorites. After playing the first and seeing how well it ws reviewd, I just assumed there would be a sequel. Is there any chance we could see another one?
