Kaidan couldn't have come out during SM, he wasn't there. And end result on Horizon speaks differently that he's not hetero but bi and has feelings for male Shepard.Destroy Raiden wrote...
Except end results speak differently all past LI are hetro. People in real life know at an early age if they like the s/s or not a game character has their creator to establish if they like s/s or not and being every past LI would could've come out would've during 2 SM or already did back in ME new characters should be made s/s options not past ones. We expect people can or do change their orientation in their lives we don't expect this from our game characters.

And you know this how? From experience? Please enlighten us all on this experience you have with early age sexual preference and I'll compare it to my own real experiences.

I knew one of my friends for two years before I learned he was bi-sexual. I knew another for five years before he told me he was gay. It is quite possible for the subject to not come up for quite some time.
Shepard has only really known Ashley, Liara, Garrus, and Tali for only about a year to a year and a half if you exclude the time Shepard spent dead. Shepard has spent even less time with Thane, Miranda, Jack, and Jacob. I don't remember if Kaidan and Shepard knew each othe before they were assigned to the Normandy.

It's a really awkward, clumsy line.jlb524 wrote...

Jack and that's it, no one else has shown any viable interest in a same sex relationship(talking about the squad only)
Not really...it all depends on you're interpretation of that 'girls club' line. I've only ever seen it used in friendship context.
However, I think the implicit intent was for Jack to tell lady Shepard that she's not attracted to ladies. Persumably the writer was trying to have Jack say something that could be construed as mean and dismissive -- thus remaining in character -- without actually being offensive.

Unfortunetly I don't think kasumi will be making a return as a Squad Member in ME3
I think we are in for a pleasent surprise...given what was said in the live BW interview in regards to Kasumi directly....ambiguous yes....but still very encouraging....basically, (this answer was aimed at a question about Kasumi and two other squaddies) depending on what we did with them...treated them I guess, etc... will set how large a role they will play in ME3, plus we will all get our fill of all our favorite characters...was along those lines anyway.

As has been stated already, because someone has slept with a particular sex in their history does not make them automagically heterosexual. They can be bisexual speaking of one particular past relationship that happened to be with a man/woman. That does not make them heterosexual, that makes them bisexual in a heterosexual relationship.
There is also the possibility of them being gay/lesbian and speaking of their past entanglements with someone of the opposite sex, prior to realizing their sexual identity. Then there's the alien aspect, like with Garrus and sundry. They may like a certain gender/sex in their own species, but be clueless about the differences in another species and thus only fall for an individual. For example, Garrus looks at Shepard as a human, not as a woman. They all look alike to him. It'd be like a human falling for an Elcor. They may not be able to tell the difference between male and female Elcor unless actually looking for relevant differences in a human mammal standard. Aliens may have many different genders, parts, and sexes.
In any event, sexuality is fluid, not so cut and dry. Anything is plausible if written well, we'll just have to wait and see.

If they don't die off like most foolish ideas, it means there are valid reasons behind that, don't ya think? And if it's so easy to come up with excuse for characters to be bisexual when one actively looks for it, do the same and find for us excuses when the characters hint that they're against the idea of romancing same-gendered Shepard or hint that they turn Shepard down.ReconTeam wrote...
It's easy to come up with excuses for characters to be bisexual when your actively looking for them to be so. That's pretty much the only reason these demands for pre-existing characters to be bisexual don't die off like most foolish ideas.

Actually, this is BSN. Foolish ideas never die, they just vanish for a time and reappear. And I fully think that all of the evidence in the world wouldn't convince you that they aren't bisexual.
