Sorry, iPad only let's me do quick replies.
In ME1 the entire squad was involved in the decision making process and everyone contributed. In ME2 it was either Miranda or Jacob (my two personal least favorite characters) and the token character you just recruited or just you and TIM making the decisions.
I know part of that was due to Cerberus funding, but I want ME3 to go back to the round table discussions. Just wondering what other people's opinions are on the matter.

I preferred the ME1 approach, yeah.
It gave more of a sense of unity to the crew, and even though Wrex/Tali/Garrus had no lines, at least they were present for the meeting.

Yeah, ME1 did it better, sort of. Liara tended to hog all of the dialogue if she'd been recruited though.

I liked the ME2 conference room better, but yeah, I like how it operated in ME1 better.
Saphra's right, though. Liara sort of ate all the dialogue when you recruited her.

She did. Although I do remember her getting **** slapped by at least Ashley for it. Something about who was in charge.

ME1 certainly did it better but that was because there were fewer squad-mates. I wish this would have carried over to ME2 but again too much work for the different squad-mates you could get (variations of who you could have on the team).
With ME3 going back to the smaller squad-mate pool the the ME1 style *may* return.
I miss the way there were chairs for everyone to sit down and discuss the previous mission...

The roundtable...
Shepard assembles his war council.
Garrus: "So the reapers are attacking earth, the Migrant Fleet is attacking Rannoch, the Krogan and Salarians are contemplating war, the Rachni are somewhere, the Asari and Turians are..."
Ashley: "So, who do we recruit first?"
Councilor Anderson: *via hologram* "We'll need to get all the other races onboard, I'll try and coordinate the defense here but we can't hold out for very long."
Legion: "We calculate that without interference the continued conflict between the Creators and the geth will inevitably end in the extinction of the Creator race, along with the largest naval force in the galaxy..."
Shepard: *Sighs* "Set course for Rannoch... got to deal with that one first, since they're actually destroying each other."

ME1 felt more like a team effort when it came to planning but I always felt that Shepard was firmly in control.
ME2 was more like management team telling every body what to do and that was it.

Both had their virtues, although I wished I could have told Miranda to shut up in ME2. It was like she was second guessing everyone, not a great morale booster before a dangerous mission.

Round table please....funny I was just thinking about that today....the IFF discussion, only Miranda, Jacob and Mordin are there...I want all squaddies included please...though as Saphra mentions, please not one squaddie hogging it all.

Yeah ever member of the squad gets to have a say on the missions this should be done in ME3 but given Liara's plot amour I fear she will make up most of the debreifing dialouge

I prefer most thing me1 had, this is one of them.
Even Mrs whywhywhywhy saw me playing me2 and asked why the chairs were missing when I shrugged she snidely said "And it's suppose to be better" then walked away. Of course her motivations were for me to chase her down and tickle her but when a none gamer makes such a observations it really drives the point home.

The me1 way was beter. still the style/story of me3 is going to be like me1 they say. its only combat and exploration that will me in the me2 style. hopefully!
And one of the live demos they say you will be working with you squadmates to achive something

ME1 had way better after mission assessments. I hope if its like ME1 everyone will talk at some point not just Liara, Ash, and Kaiden.

Me1.
I prefer more interaction between NPCs though.
