House_Hlaalu. Do you really believe homsexuals are homosexual by choice? They just choose to like men?

In many instnaces (not always,  mark it,
but in many instances), it is more socially induced than not. Sometimes out of desire to "be difirent", sometimes due to initial lack of success in relationships with the opposite sex, adolescents decide that "may be I'm gay". An as long as there is less social pressure on this behavior it occurs more often. Naturally, popularization of the gay life style in media and pop culture greatly factors in gender identification by adolecents. Naturally, gays are in favor of such popularization, because it means more sexual partners for them in the future. That's what they call "agenda".

Are you freakin' serious? *facepalm*

Seriously, stop posting. You spouting this vile, putrid ignorance is just embarrassing to read. Especailly the bolded part.

Watch some gay porn. Right now. Go on. Do it.

Then come back and tell me you can choose to be aroused rather than disgusted.

I'll be waiting.

If you know that then why would it be a good idea to force (lack of option) someone to see something they may regard as to use your word "disgusted" by ?

...but it's not being forced. Shepard can always say no. Just like I said no to Liara during first playthrough.

I took the poster's word for it and asked a question.  As far as it not being forced you are under the assumption that some people aren't sheltered from homosexuals just the proposition may sour the gameplay experience depending on how they were raised.  I see the lack of a option as needless frustration from those who don't enjoy nor agree with the lifestyle.

Asari anyone? Why are they not included in this group of people that would harm how some people were raised. I mean, I know that Asari are "mono-gendered" and all but they got boobs and to the conventional player, it's a lesbian relationship with FemShep.

Oh, you are correct. So it's not a choice and you proved it through having to ask that question. Thank you.

I took the poster at his word as I have no gay porn and little incentive to search some out to prove his point or not.  I then asked a Question one that is repeatily being ignored and my question then taken out of context becomes fodder for the argument of if homosexuals are by choice or not.

Interesting to say the least.

To add my two cents to the born-gay-or-not-born-gay debate, I don't think it's relevant, IMHO people aren't born straight or gay or bisexual for that matter, people are born SEXUAL and that's it. Climax can be achieved through any somewhat mechanical movement (I'm into women yet when I masturbate, I'm conscious that I'm just using some dude's hand). The quality of our pleasure now depends vastly on our own tastes/aesthetic preferences, which we cultivate our whole life through, it's simplistic to call them either nature or nurture.

I like how people seem to think gay/straight is a chromosome or something. And I find the reverse extreme ("it's a choice !") just as offensive because it often implies that there's a right choice and a wrong choice, and that it's okay for gays to be discrimined against cause it was their choice in the first place (you actually read that).

The real question is whether a certain sexuality is morally wrong or not, which it is if it's not consensual or abusive. Two men or women having fun together will always be healthier than a man abusing a woman.

Everybody in the real world has preferences, if mass effect want's that real world romance feel then well they have to follow it, not every person in Real life is bisexual, some people can only be aroused/attracted to the same sex, some are attracted by opposite sex, and some can be aroused by both. making everyone romance able in ME3 by FemShep and ManShep is kinda silly but if they do go with that sure! ill go with it, it'll still be awesome game :)

I agree my wife was offended by it she's a country bumpkin, I myself was raised in the city of Chicago.  Many of gay parades by wrigley field and my stance has always been, I don't agree with it but friends can have differences.

In response to the link that OP used. That thread was created by a person that pretty much voiced his opinion on why homosexuals shouldn't be in the marines, and that he would not accept one in his team. His interests in having S/S relationships removed was boiled down to his own narrow mind in real life. It was also not the first time, since he posted pretty much the same stuff in the James Vega thread. Then there's also the fact that he actually wanted a toggle for "gay content".

I can understand that people raise an eyebrow at the thought of characters, that previously appeared to be straight, suddenly came out of the closet as bisexuals would feel odd. That's just a sudden change in what we have seen up until now.

But when it comes down to old fashioned intolerance, where diversity is frowned upon, the sense of logic and rationality stops.

If you really feel this way then what of the promiscuous womanizer/man-eaters that don't want their character to "settle down" ?  What of the Polyamory relationships out there ?  mfm and fmf ?  Why is that silent minority being forced to play a certain way ?

You answered yourself.

No if this is about respecting others choices then all should have been included from the start.

Look at the bolded part. This isn't about respect. If polygamous people want to heard, they should speak up.

Nonsense.

Every credible contemporary psychiatric organisation concludes the opposite.

From the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2007: "Despite almost a century of psychoanalytic and psychological speculation, there is no substantive evidence to support the suggestion that the nature of parenting or early childhood experiences play any role in the formation of a person’s fundamental heterosexual or homosexual orientation. It would appear that sexual orientation is biological in nature, determined by a complex interplay of genetic factors and the early uterine environment. Sexual orientation is therefore not a choice."

I should get a toggle to turn all blacks in power to white people because I don't want that forced on me.

First it's African american.
Second I hate when people try to compare the homosexual struggle to that of what my ancestors went through.  It's not even remotely close.  The subject here is about Differing views NOT trying to tie in racism into a platform to fight different views on relationship lifestyles.  I am greatly offended.

Obviously homosexuals didn't have to deal with the grave injustices of slavery and the extent of discrimination nor is the nature of sexuality the same as race, but saying there aren't a few similarities is ridiculous. Hate is no different no matter how you put it or who it's for. Hating people for who they are is wrong and that's that.

Elaborate, that statement as is I disagree with.  Share with me your point of view.

I find the notion that a black in power would have to be American to be a bit, hmm...  not racist, since "American" isn't a race, but certainly needlessly biased.  Someone darker skinned in Canada, who happens to have ancestors that at some point came from africa, isn't an African Canadian, they're just Canadian.

What you say is almost worse than Fred Phelps.

Dominant men in a s/s relationship have to be bi?
Submissive men and gay men in general can't be tough or make it in the military?
Homosexuals are just losers who can't make it with a girl?
Homosexuals want to indoctrinate children so they can have sex with them in the future?

That's not real life. It is idiocy and bull****. You are an idiot.

One of these days, I'll invite a real toggle it off button. And I can sell it for like millions of dollars. I can turn off anyone I want.

Stupid Latinos next door speaking a language I can't understand...*boop!* off!

Loud children being obnoxious inside the supermarket. *boop*

Ugh...this Goddamn old lady in her Audi driving 20 miles in a 40 mile zone. SO turning you off....okay maybe this one is a real desire. *double boop*

sexual treesome is not the same as poly relationship. you don't have to be poly to enjoy an occasional threesome - heck Alistair is pretty much shown as monogamous and yet you can convince him to dally with Isabela. Once. Writing a triad (or more) relationship is a hell of a lot more complicated then writing a single sexual encounter. and honestly - Jade empire kinda sorta tried, but they mostly just brushed it off to a behind the scenes sort of explanation (oh we talked and we decided that we both loved you too much to let you go) and honestly, I found it somewhat shallow.

the whole politically correct crap about "African American" is annoying. not every black person is american or of african decent even.

Well, I think I'm still being misunderstood here. I'm not against gay pop culture. On the contrary. The more guys go gay, the more lonely girls there are for us straight guys.

But I strongly oppose my game suggesting that my Commnader Shepard can be perceived as a potential romance interest by some gay NPC, and having no decent response option. Since I have no doubt BioWare isn't including a decent response option, I request that such eventualities should be switched off altogehter at the game start.
