Called it. "Corpses can't say no." But I fully expect him to do something horribly boring like accuse me of being a necrophiliac instead.

Nope ^_^

There's a reason why if you save Kaiden from death and reunite with him in ME 2 as manShep you'll notice a pretty strong sexual vibe between the two.

When did that happen? I remember telling him to go run under the council's skirt if he had a problem with Cerberus. No lava or florescent lamps that I recall. Didn't hear any Barry White or Marverlous Marvin in the background either.

We must be playing two different games.

I can respect evil master plans, don't dissapoint me now.

The meeting between m!Shepard and Alenko is identical to the modded one version, minus the hug and the specific: "I thought we had something" line. The rest is pretty homoerotic, at least IMO.

probably because since all romances are optional you have always had the option to either not play a romance or play as a hetero romance but now when we finally have the option to play a s/s romance- which is what it is a completely avoidable option your not wanting it is biased and causing trouble over a pointless issue. you don't want a s/s romance don't play that option and in your mind canon all characters can be hetero but we (those of us who have always wanted a s/s option) we finally get the option to play it and that puts us on a fair and even playing field as everyone else.

Also generally those that don't want the s/s option in their game tend to be unable to present a logical argument as to why it shouldn't be there without saying something mean or biggoted.

I personally don't understand the big deal its an extra option, if you don't want the candy don't eat the candy. but why take candy from the babies that want the candy?

I don't think I have actually seen any of the characters (other than Liara) fully state their sexuality.

Hey for all you guys know Kaiden could be transgendered
Miranda might be a lesbian but is sleeping around with guys because she wants a child
And Tali might be asexual. :wizard:

We don't really know.

And remember guys ... your dialogue is optional ... you don't have to go for the s/s relationship if you don't want to. :)

If nobody had brought forward the idea of a sexual preference toggle in character creation before, then this topic has served a valid purpose. The idea is a good one, and I doubt it would offend anyone having the ability to select their own Shepherd's orientation.

I don't think there will be a toggle. Bioware still firmly believes that FemShep/Liara is not a True lesbian romance, and I don't see them taking that back any time soon.

Lets say you make a Femshep, and choose "Straight" in character creation(or wherever this "Toggle" may be). Will Liara still be able to flirt with you? If the toggle won't effect her, what's the purpose of having the toggle in the first place?

Of course they could just say Femshep/Liara is a Lesbian romance and that situation would not happen, but its just a thought I had.

That option exists already...it's called NOT PICKING THE BLEEPIN' ROMANCE DIALOG CHOICE.

I wouldn't worry. ME3 will be a good game with or without homosexual pandering™.

I'll remember to think of your incessent whinging when I take advantage of whatever same-sex content Bioware deigns to let fall upon the masses.

It makes it all the more satisfying, actually.

Oh don't worry, I'll leave Kaidan on Virmire just out of remembrance for you.

heh, I got a mental image of a elitePinecone controlled Kaiden trying to pull your kaiden to a shuttle to get em off virmire before the bomb went off.  They didn't make it, your Kaiden was too dedicated.:D

Ah, well, apparently people will still be offended by the option of others to pick their own characters orientation.  My mistake.

The issue with that is plenty of people don't want to see other content. I don't want people hitting on my Shep so if you get a toggle so should I. Our concerns would be equally valid.

I'm assuming the offense isn't borne of people saying "I won't be picking the homosexual romances myself". It's when people start asking for a means with which to filter it out completely, lest they be briefly exposed to a homosexual advance and coincidentally acting as if they'll be somehow forced into returning the affection, then it gets a little more frustrating. If I pitched the suggestion to include a racial minority toggle, I'd be verbally strung up from the rafters, and quite rightfully so.There's no such thing as 'reasonable discrimination'.

It's hardly unreasonable to choose sexual orientation at the character creation stage.

That way everyone gets to access the content they want and is appropriate to them.

How that in any way is discriminatory I fail to comprehend.

This entire thing is the result of the whole mentality that romances in games are supposed to appeal to the player directly instead of work as a storytelling element. I think that the possibility of same-sex characters being attracted to Shep is a good thing, despite my personal lack of attraction to individuals of my sex. Why? Because it's more realistic for the Mass Effect universe to have gay people in it. End of story.

It's a game about screwing aliens, I really think of all the things to get worked up about, the gender of the alien is the least of your problems.....
