I know get the 6 drake scales, take them to Denerim talk to Wade, etc. I choose to pay the extra cash and yet he says the armor stinks and that he could do better

isn't paying the extra cash supposed to get the better armor? I'm looking to give my Rogue PC the best and isn't that the superior drake skin?

The first set he creates he always says that. But creating the first set only uses 3 of your scales, you then give him the second set of 3 scales, and if you paid him, he'll make that set into the superior set.

Edit: And the best armour for a rogue in Origins isn't the drakeskin. The Felon's Coat + Bard's Dancing Shoes + Red Jenny Seekers + whatever helm you like is the way to go.

Yes you have to pay 10 extra the 1st time and 20 extra the 2nd time to get Superior.

Actually you don't have to pay extra the second time.
