I just finished recruiting all characters and after recruiting Jack, I'm
back on Normandy in the Conference with Miranda and Jack and when the
video clip ends - Shepard in is the conference room and the door and the
controls on the table are in ORANGE boxes, and I can't get out of the
room or make anything happen! What's going on here? I replayed from the last save, then even further back, didn't help. The last level completed (7) concludes and then loads a new segment of video in Normandy conference room, video ends, trapped! Anyway out of this??

PS - I'm running Windows 7 on a new PC computer - up to this point the game has worked fine. On another ME forum I was told the program is glitched.

Start here^ and give the information required.  Also needed is the way you purchased the game, ie DTD, Steam, Origin DL, DVD, or something else.

each will have a different recourse in some instances, as well as what hardware you have.

mcsupersport - thanks for the help - but after a lot of interaction with tech one and tech two (one level up they said), the conclusion was that this is a "gamer problem" - go to the forum. Told them I did that, then told me how to remove and reload program. Could not really address problem.

I did discover something - I can't erase previous saves on this part of the game.

More bad news - not only can I not erase previous saves in this section (other sections work fine) but in Mission Computer, I'm recycling through data I read that on the next cycle says "new" - sounds like I am truly glitched!

The post that mcsupersport directed you to is one which lets you know what sort of information we need in order to help you out. If you can be bothered reading it and taking the advice thats freely given, then theres nothing anyone on these forums can do to help you.

I reported this on another forum - I have a PC, Window 7 platform - the tech folks could not help.

It's a cross-post anyway that shouldn't exist (or the original request for a spoiler in the Strategy Forum shouldn't have been posted). I would just ignore it until one or the other thread is locked down.

Are you implying that "Windows 7" is not enough information?
