Hi

Sorry for reposting this, but all the threads I can find about it are over 4months old.

I have been playing the ultimate edition of Dragon Age origins and 2 of my friends are also playing this game.

None of us have unlocked the Blight Queller Achievement on xbox 360.

I am on my 6th playthrough and I know that I have killed more than about 3000 darkspawn with my own character with me in control.

On my 4th playthrough I deleted the Ostegar & Awakenings DLC as I read that this could be causing the problem.
I also read that it has to be with the main character & me in control, so I have been leaving camp on my own, or making the rest of the team hold position so I can get the darkspawn kills.

I have not imported my characters from the 4th, 5th or 6th playthroughs into the awakenings or dragon age 2 yet.  This is the only achievement I have left to complete this game and I know I have killed way over 3000 with my character & me in control....

Much as I love the game i am not looking forward to a 7th playthrough knowing its not going to unlock the achievementPosted Image

Can anyone help with this achievement??

Thanks
Lisa

The solution hasn't really changed from what's on those 4 month old topics.

I had the same problem, as blight queller was my last remaining achievement to unlock. I finally got it during the alienage part of the Seige of Denerim.

You'll need two saves for this method, since the game only records your kills permanently when you save. Just before you speak to Shianni, or just after you enter the alienage, create your backup save file. Then, go kill all of the darkspawn, making sure to hold off on killing the emissary for a bit as that will keep extra darkspawn from spawning, then finish all of them off and save your game on a different file. Then reload your save from before speaking to Shianni and do it all over again.

How long this takes depends on how many darkspawn kills your warden has. Your warden has to have 1000 darkspawn kills themself, not including any kills done by their companions. That said, you'll get this done faster if you solo this part.

I got this achievement without needing to delete any dlc. The issue was with one of the patches that prevented this achievement from counting darkspawn kills across multiple playthroughs, as what was intended. You weren't meant to kill 1000 darkspawn in a single playthrough, with your warden doing all of the killing, especially when it takes all of the dlc along with the main game just to get 1000 darkspawn kills.

You could bring a mage along for healing, if you wanted, as long as they don't do any killing. I also brought Leliana along during my playthrough, and just left her in stealth mode during combat, as I wanted her along to pick locks.

I just got the achievement there, after around four playthroughs. I'd cleared the xbox cache to remove the patches since I'd heard it worked fine before one of the patches.

(This would cause a problem with my Gears 2 rank so I had to piddle around with a work around first, making a silver account to install a patch on Gears 2 so my rank wouldn't reset due to the unpatched game not recognising patched rank data, but that is besides the point, endrant)

So after completing that, around 8 times through Denerim Alienage solo with my Arcane Warrior and it popped, and I felt overjoyed and shocked. Good luck! Patches being placed/(possibly)removed is something I have heard resets the achievement progress, so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

The patch is the problem, so removing it should work. The only problem is that you'd still need to do multiple playthroughs, as the patch kept the darkspawn kills from being counted across multiple playthroughs.

You can get the achievement unlocked with the patch still intact, using the save and reload method in the Denerim alienage. I was skeptical myself, until I finally got the achievement. Once I saw the message pop up, my jaw dropped. Now, I have 100% of the Origins achievements, and I'm just working on my DA2 import playthrough.

Keep in mind OP you have to kill all those darkspawn yourself in a single game.
Your progress will reset on new games or imports into awakening.
