We keep arguing and it's honestly going nowhere. Here's the two opinions:

1) Having characters heterosexual or stricly lesbian/gay isn't fair to the player. We need to be given more options so we can make the experience truly our own. The characters should be bi so we can make the decision for ourselves.

2) Having every character bi would take away from the game experience because every character will be approaching Shepard in a romantic way. That would get really old really fast. Also my favourite character would be made to be something they clearly aren't.

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!    I'm suggesting a solution to the problem.

Solution so both sides are happy: Make romances so that they can only be initiated by the player. If the characters never say anything romantic and it's only able to start with player consent, then everyone will be happy. Make all characters with the ability to swing for both teams, then it's really up to the player to decide if the characters actually want to go for Shepard or not. In the past, characters began to flirt with Shepard making their romantic feelings clear from the get go. If those kind of things were not allowed to happen until the player (Shepard) made the first move, then there would be no reason to complain. :)

Edit: If I didn't articulate how this would work well enough, I apologize.

Basically they would all start with non romantic dialogue. If Shepard said something romantic, then the romantic responses would begin, if Shepard didn't say something romantic, then the romantic responses would never come up. Make sense?

No offense, but by making this thread, you just added to it. It would be best if people just ignored these threads.

I'm just trying to suggest and idea that would make everyone satisfied. And crossing my fingers that BioWare actually sees it. :P

A possible idea i thought of, would it be possible if perhaps in the game options that you can toggle all same sex dialogue options on and off. So for example, if toggled off, Male Shep won't have any romance trigger dialogue available in the chat with Garrus or something.

That could work.

I like them personally, sure there will never be any real agreement and there is no pleasing everybody, but it's fun and interesting and occasionally you learn something as well.

A toggle option would NOT be a good idea, as that gives a bad message to the gay community.

Bioware said they aren't going to do that... for long lengthy reasons that I rather not say... But I love the original idea that the OP had ^v^ Good job OP!

You seriously want to know what the gay toggle is. Here it is.

It's called not doing the romance. Gayness averted. Your Shepard's heterosexuality is preserved.

It would? personally i'd just see it as a way to suit the individuals preference. I mean in the past games they made same sex romances not possible at all. That would've sent an even worse message to them IMO.

Come on Bioware. Do you really want to look at these threads for the next eight months, and constantly close them down? Give us the romance options, and we can have something new to fight about.

Also, toggling out something you don't like? That makes it sound like you don't even want to tolerate it being in your game. Not tolerating s/s dialog? Bad, bad message. Just ignore the options; I doubt there will be ninjamances.

And yes, it would be great to initiate all romances regardless of gender. Agreed with you there OP.

Ha. There will never be peace between the s/s and non s/s communities. Personally idc if there are s/s romances or not, especially since bioware said there would be why fight it. But there will always be that one Gaarrus lover who is adamant that space batman not be homosexual:P

Lol, the only thing to solve the problem is to make s\\s as an option DURING the installation. So, who don't want anything just install teh game with this option unchecked, others press "okay" and they have s\\s in the game. Weird, I know:)

Ya that's true I didn't think about that, Wolf. Thanks, Gigglez I think it would work well too.

As a member of "the gay community".

So long as I could toggle all heterosexual content (or even ALL romance content) - I'd be perfectly fine with it.

I don't mind the threads - as I feel the need to inform Bioware of what I would like in their product as a paying customer. Any smart business would want to maximize new purchasers while limiting alienation - and I really don't think that many heterosexuals stop buying video games because fifteen extra minutes of dialogue were devoted to a gay romance option.

Garrus bi?
No thanks, this thread won't make any difference.
It will only cause more fighting, i wish Bioware wouldn't include any romances in ME3 at all, just to troll both sides and make them realize how pathetic and immature are.

This will never end. The battle will continue all the way until March 6th, maybe even further. And there is no compromise.

Some want all LI to be bi.(me)

Some want only a few.

Some want only new squad mates to be bi.

And some want no S/S options at all.

As you can see, it's impossible to please all these people. So I suggest you ride it out or leave the forums, because it won't be ending anytime soon.

This. Knowing who will be romanceable in the game would stop fears of characters like garrus being made bi. The only problems it could cause is people being pissed that characters become bi. Just give us info to stop the speculation and rinse and repeat threads.

I think BioWare should make a public statement that says exactly this:
"**** the haters.

Oh, were making everybody gay."

Because I honestly couldn't give a damn either way.

Basically, if tey have s/s romances, my cannon won't experience them as he will stay loyal, but my other Shepards are specifically for experimentation. Both would be pleased.
Even if s/s romances didn't exist then my other Sheps would still be satisfied due to the already large selection of romances avalible.

By Jove, I'm so glad this isn't another "let's have a toggle to switch off teh ghey" thread.

Your idea is a sound one, but I still don't quite understand why people get their knickers in such a twist because of a little flirting.

I personally don't either, but I'm just trying to think of something that would work for everyone.
