Hey, I just got my whole party except for Minsc chunked by the Favored of Cyric. What in the world was that?
It looked like we had won the battle, but then the Favored started teleporting all over the place; nobody was hurt very bad; I wasn't hurt at all. Then, the Favored just disappeared suddenly, and everybody but Minsc and me chunked.
What's going on with that? Is there a time limit on the battle where it ends and then save or be chunked?
On the reload, we killed them all pretty quickly, and it seemed to play out the way it was supposed to.
Can anybody tell me what the deal is with these guys?
Thanks.
Favored of Cyric - What was that?

Search function in Near Infinity turned up the creature file Chalcy02.cre, which shows that he is a high level Thief, presumably with Thief HLAs. He also has high level gear. The chunking could be some HLA.

It's from a mod I think. My strategy is usually to run like hell.

I guess you're talking about one of the ToB ring battles, the 4th ring, I think. No, I never saw anything remotely like that. Did you leave one of the clerics unbothered so that he could get off a level 7 clerical spell that took a lot of rounds to cast (Nature's Beauty?)? But you would have seen the record of that "casting" in the dialogue record and I'm sure you checked that. Sounds like a bug due to fighting mods, so the standard question would be what do you have installed, what level of difficulty are you playing at, etc.,etc.. But you're almost at the end of ToB anyway, so I assume you're not going to change anything.
Puzzling.
Puzzling.

There is no time limit or instant death applied in pocket plane challenge 4, although the assassins can certainly chunk characters with their backstabs. I tend to have multiple True Sight spells running and keep low hp characters on the move to stop the Cyricists from one-hitting them.

4 out of 6 quietly backstabbed all at once? I wonder if these high level thieves have reached the "use any weapon, use any scroll" level with their HLAs. But I agree with Sparky the Barb that it sounds buggish.

Yeah, I thought it seemed a little buggy, too. The dialogue record just said "death, illusion dispelled" for each character, but only Minsc's "coprse" was still there.
Also, there was no more fighting after that. The Favored were all dead as well. It was behaving like they were in a Teleport Field (rapid cloaking and de-cloaking, maybe?). I may have cast a Dragon Breath and a Horrid Wilting - I wonder if the "party safe" feature of Dragon Breath wasn't working in the arena, such that I killed all the Favored but also my own party?
Could one of them have cast an AoE spell with friendly fire, such that they all killed themselves and my party at the same time? I was wearing the Cloak of Mirrors, so I was safe from anything that the Cloak protects from.
I have no spell-changing mods installed. Only Tweaks and a handful of cosmetic changes from SCS. I have Ashes of Embers "sensible weapon restrictions" only.
To clarify: I am indeed talking about pocket plane challenge #4. You cannot retreat from this battle - it's a lock-in until resolved.
