So first thing's first, I feel like running through an NG+ with my vanguard, but the main question I would like to ask is on the collector ship, I'm thinking of picking up the Assault Rifle instead of the Claymore, is this possible on an NG+ playthrough or do I have to start again from scratch? 

If so, (someone shoot me for this) but can I get some opinions on the Soldier? I've never actually played as that class, the main reason I went Vanguard is well...running up to someone and jamming a shotgun down their throat, but well...not to sure about the Soldier XD. I've always like my Assault Rifles. But I was just wondering how would you guys explain the Soldier class? Preferably against something I can look up XD.

NG+ doesn't allow any changes in weapons at the Collector ship. The only way to get a different weapon would be to a) use a save editor, replay your character from before the CS and choose a different weapon, or c) start a whole new game.


Soldier is pretty much any 3rd person shooter using bullet time(slow motion). You can take any one of the big weapons, Widow SR, Claymore SG, and Revanant LMG, allowing for a variety of choice in game play.

There are two most popular styles of Soldier, 1) Rev LMG Soldier and 2)Widow/Mattock Soldier. The first is based around using the Upgraded assault rifle from the collector ship and Inferno ammo. This combination pretty much makes a Soldier who plays like Rambo. The second is taking the Widow Sniper Rifle and pairing it with the Mattock dlc assault rifle. This is generally a bit more standoffish, and takes advantage of the Mattocks property to fire every time the trigger is pulled, without change in ARush(slomo).

Some people love the Soldier, other don't care for it. The only way to really know is to try, but be aware the Soldier is pure shooting, with minimal to no real power usage.

Ah thanks. I knew I should of kept a spare save for this reason XD Oh wells, Learn from my mistakes and move on.

And thanks for that too. I've always really disregarded the Soldier because of the lack of biotic/tech powers but recently I've been tempted to have a go with it due to the lack of biotics and Shepard kicks ass without any fancy stuff XD.
It's really a small debate between Vanguards and Soldiers for me XD.

and chances are I'll use the Avenger Rifle, I've always prefered full-auto to semi-auto XD

If you like full auto then when the CS comes upgrade to the Rev LMG. That is a bullet hose of a gun and to me the most fun playstyle. You really want the ARifle accuracy upgrade as soon as possible with it, so make the effort to get it pre-CS. Avenger is so-so at best, with so many others better. If you try the Mattock you may just find you like it due to the raw power it has in Arush. If you haven't ever played a Soldier then by all means try it out, and have fun with it.

Alright thanks. I might try it out as my FemShep Renegade playthrough but I'm debating if I want to do that or an all power biotic **** XDD.

Either way I shall take your advice into consideration
