Hi guys i was wondering if a warrior with massive armor would make an excellent archer. also which specializations would be good for it and should i get any of the archery skills.or would a rogue archer be the better choice.Image IPB

Breaking down what I know...

Warrior Archers:

High dex, moderate str, no Con
Light or Medium armor preferred (heavy armor only if you want to be able to switch to a blade) never massive armor
Fill out the entire archery talent section
Fill out the entire warrior talent section (perfect striking can do wonders)

For specializations I recommend Champion and Spirit Warrior, (SW = super high attack speed, Champion = crowd control if an enemy gets too close). For your third spec, it depends on many things.

Rogue Archers:

High dex, no con, just enough str for light armor and moderate cunning
Only wear light armor, but get any trinkets that give high elemental and spell resistences and dodging abilities (for a secondary weapon set, equip dual daggers which have a lot of spell resistence runes in them).
Fill out your archery tree and fill out the evasion and stealth rogue trees, as an archer you'll rarely need to backstab.

For specializations grab Ranger for crowd creation (extra body on your side) and Shadow for added stealth benefits. For your other spec grab bard or Legionnaire Scout (bards can improve overall party damage drastically based on cunning, Legionnaire Scouts get extra survival based talents and can help you take those few hits while your tank regains threat).

That's in my experience anyway, I find rogues to make the best "pure archers" thanks to their innate talents at avoiding damage but I haven't played Warrior Archers much so what I know, I know from theory :D

Warrior Archer

Avoid Berserker even though you can technicaly get it to work.

Only Enough Str to wear armor, everything else Dex.

Then you have two paths to choose, DPS Tank or DPS.

Champion/Templar is pretty straight forward and gives you a Focus on aoe crowd control with War Cry and Holy Smite.

Reaver/ Champion or Templar allows for you to tank quite a bit more because of Aura of Pain and also Devour is the only warrior Heal. Threaten+Aura of Pain will hold threat against groups of enemies.

You definetly want to get Powerful, and Death Blow as soon as possble from the Warrior Tree and Melee Archer and Master Archer from the Archery tree.
Avoid Massive Armor for the Chest (Helms, Gloves Boots are ok) but heavy is fine if you want.

See my Sig link for a list of archer related equipment.
