No need of being grumpy. I was just stressing my preference, but if i wish to play with a controller i would have bought a console.

You just strolled in, said "Sorry I prefer keyboard + mouse" and expect NOT to have backlash on it?

Why did you even do it? It adds NOTHING to the discussion?

Actually the title of the discussion is whether ME3 PC would be better with a controller or not. I stated my opinion and you are continuing provoking me without a reason. I do not know where you live but in my country (a democratic one) people can state their opinion without being criticized for doing so.....i'm sorry if you live in a dictatorship. Stop accusing people of trolling.

ME2 has controller support if you do ini tweaks so I don't know why they didn't support it natively. The only thing they had to add was the power and weapon wheel. All the rest was intact: Xbox buttons, 'press start', even aim assist.

I prefer the mouse and keyboard myself but I like PC gaming because it offers choice. After doing a first playthorugh I may want to hook up my PC to a big TV and sit back in which case a controller is very convenient.

I thought being allowed to criticize someone's opinion is normal in a democracy. Just like you critized the other guy's opinion that your comment is pointless.

Actually the title is slightly off to the rest of the thread and discussion, but I guess you just wanted to come in and say you prefer PC, good for you.

Uhg, controller for FPS 3PS on PC. But, I did start my ME experience on the Xbox personally, and did not find it overly difficult to play. As someone said-different strokes....

Anyway, at some point in time wasn't one of the benefits MS touted as developing for the Xbox was that since deving on it was akin to a DirectX SDK and that it was super easy just to port over to a Windows box? If that's the case, just copy/pasting the controller scheme should be under a 100 man hour job, less if you steal from work done for another game. /shrug

I usually hate controllers in shooters but I tried it in ME2 and was surprised how well I did. In first person shooters and Red Dead Redemption I suck at shooting, but in Mass Effect 2 I had no problems at all.

To be honest I wouldn't mind both so long that Bioware handles us PC gamers like actual gamers and not like second class citizens.

And even though my PC-centric times are largely over and have come to the conclusion that both PC and consoles are fun in their own way I would laugh at anyone who claims they can beat someone on a shooter with a stick vs. mouse.

Anyone claiming this nonsense obviously never touched a shooter on PC.

Some people who learned to play shooters on console think gamepads are better. They're wrong of course, they just don't know it.

1v1 right here right now on Black Ops! Newb! NEWB!!!!! XD

Sure thing. One problem, no autoaim.

It was done, that's why shooters crossplatform servers can't be done, a PC player would shoot you in the back of your head 3 times before you would turn around.

Like good for you...? And because you prefer KB+mouse EVERYONE should play with KB+Mouse...<_< ,- Nothing wrong with options.

Yeah it is good for hiim, people do have the option to play Mass Effect 2/3 with the joypad.  You will find it is the console version, there you go there is your option.

This.

They really work fine on consoles.

That said, the day the PC version becomes BETTER with a controller, I will eat my hat. In fact, I will buy a hat and then eat it (since I don't actually own one).

Are you f***ing kidding me OP?
It's all matter or preferences. You like to play with controller ? Do it, it's your business after all.
I'll stick with kb+mouse
termo = buy a goodhat, so you won't later "pay the price" for eating that hat ;)

I recall the devs have confirmed Mass Effect 2 is harder on pc than on consoles due to the superior controls (K&M). I don't want Mass Effect to become easier just to have some folks being able to plug in there controller. If you prefer a controller buy or play on a console and leave pc players alone.

I much prefer playing w/ keyboard and mouse.  Before I bought my PS3, the last controller/joystick I had was from the Atari 2600.  With the PC version, I did have to remap a few of the keys on both ME games, but other than that, I got no problems.

Keyboard movement can improve a lot, but nothing matches the mouse.

Keyboard + Mouse = best control system!

I don't care if I can use a controller for PC version, because I won't use it!

Thats not really an answer, all that comment does is skirt around the issue and offer a financially difficult alternative. Why spend money on a games console + game when you have a perfectly fine PC?   Or just maybe theres this crazy idea that people own a PC and want to play with a controller as they prefer it?

You know yourself theres been several threads about this now.  Personally I would like the option.  I found playing ME2 on PC an awkward experience with the mouse and keyboard and would have much preferred having a controller option.

I would really welcome having this feature available in ME3.

My husband tried to use a controller for the PC ME2 to see what it was like. There was no actual game support and he had to use a 3rd party program to do it.

He wasn't able to finish a play through that way. He said it was much to tedious trying to use the controller with how the PC controls were designed and that he felt sluggish even when just moving. He switched back to keyboard and mouse rather quickly.

I haven't tried it myself though, I am not a fan of controllers, they feel uncomfortable in my hands and I have trouble adjusting to them so it would just be an annoyance for me either way.

If you have a PC capable of playing Mass Effect then I think it is quite incredible to suggest you can't afford a console.  If you prefer to use a joypad to play games then there is no reason to exclude a console from your hobby especially since they are incredibly cheap these days.

How about this for a really "outlandish" idea, people that own a PC want to play the PC version of Mass Effect tailored to the PC's native control scheme.  If they include joypad support it can only be done ecomomically at mouse and keyboard users expense.  I don't want that I want the PC version of Mass Effect 3 to use the full capabilities of the PC's native control scheme

Yeah and several of those threads were created by the same guy spamming the forum with what he wants.  Usually the topic dies after a couple of days of wrangling.  I wouldn't say that indicates there is a wide spread demand for joypad control.

As I said if you found playing ME 2 awkward then you have options open to you.  If you prefer the joypad then you would be better to invest in a console where your preference is catered for.  This is one of the primary reasons why I am still a PC gamer, I LIKE mouse and keyboard control it is MY preference and I am willing to put up with the annoyances of PC gaming to cater for that preferenece.

ME3 on PC should be played with a keyboard and mouse. Keyboard and mouse.

But if you already own a good PC and spent money on it why then go out and buy a console?

Like I said it personal preference and I get it you prefer a mouse and keyboard. However not everyone does. Some people simply prefer a controller set up and all people are asking is for Bioware to at least consider offering an alternate way to play on the PC if its feasible.

Of course the majority prefer the mouse keyboard setup and that should remain top priority.  However if they can find the time to set up that option I would welcome it.

I'm a PC gamer that can run ME2 on max settings, but I can barely afford to buy games often, let alone console as well.

And I want to try and play it with a controller at a 1080p resolution. What should I do?

To be honest I don't care that much about controller support, but let's pretend there are people out there who want to play the game with all the bells and whistles a PC offers and still be able to play with a controller.
