Anderson was a soldier before he was a politician. He can handle himself. I would be honestly surprised if he died. Especially after the role he had in ME1.

I was thinking he'd just be a replacement soldier in case Ash died and a tutorial character. By explaining things to him, you recap on your choices.

Do we really need a white, human, male sniper tank? Already a gender imbalance in the squad. Jacob's not as bulky, but he can tank just fine with barrier spam. Just give him some Mass Effect Galaxy stuff.

I'd really rather have an Asian (sumo wrestlers anyone?), Kal'reegar (nice missile launcher) or Gavorn (sniper) and maybe Urz (tag along pet).

not to faithful on the idea that they are killing him off near the beginning, they already explained his role and previous members who died at the beginning were not widely publicized

I don't understand why people hate the guy just from an unfinalised rendering or two. He looks fine to me. I like his hair, face could use some tuning but I'm sure my man Shep could make very good use of that body.

I personally am looking forward to meeting him in the game, anyone better than Jacob is a plus for me.

This, thank you.   I'm 100% sure that Vega will surprise most people, just as Jack, Grunt or any other character that was getting major insults before ME2 came out have.

Another purpose of Vega could be to provide a good bromance, since Wrex, Garrus, Thane and Legion (not technically a man, but a bro nonetheless) can all die. You should not doubt the power of the bromance and not criticise the awe inspiring phenomenon of 'Guy Love'.
