They get resurrected in the Asparagus Project.

'Garrus... why the long face?'

If they die in ME3, I'll go back and play ME2 and have them both killed in the suicide mission so they will be guaranteed not to die in ME3.

Problem solved!

If Garrus dies, you get his evil twin Barrus.

Barrus.

I don't think I ever literally laughed out loud on a forum before. Well played, sir.

Also, people you've found for the SM are the absolute top. They're not supposed to be easily replacable. If someone lost some squadmates and now wants to metagame them back "for richer ME3 experience", that's his call and his priviledge, he bought the game after all. But if you don't, don't expect to be compensated because "I didn't know about the Reapers lul".

Actions have consequences, the beauty of ME save system is such that you'll get to see them unfold. That doesn't automatically mean "every action you do is right and WILL benefit you". If you don't like it, reroll. Get another Shepard. Play your old Shepard from your pre-IFF save. Just don't expect Bioware to pat your head and say it's gonna be alright because you feel robbed of ME3 story already, because you killed some geth or squadmate or pushed a merc out of the window for lulz, or something else that seemed like a good idea at the time. You were never promised it's ALWAYS going to be pretty, but you don't *need* to compromise your choices either. All those decisions are up to you in that game.

Having a replacement for certain ME2 squad deaths would take up a ton of resources for content that isn't necessarily in everyone's game, so I sincerely doubt it will happen. Adjusting lines to account for a character's absence is relatively small scale. Writing an entirely new character is a lot more work.

What if tali or garrus die in ME2?

Game over. Reapers win.

No Garrus? The gun didn't calibrate properly and you failed. Critical mission fail.

No Tali? The engine overloads causing a massive implosion and destroying the Normandy after Shepard is being picked up from the earth gameplay trailer.

Then Credits roll, and at the end there's a trollface saying: "Sorry U suck at keeping ur squad alive!"

Uh aren't there dozen of threads already discussing what should happen to dead squad mates?

Why do evil twins, always have a goatee?

It's the whole mirror universe meme from the original Star Trek. Your evil twin will always have a goatee. ALWAYS.

Any way, I'd say we will get a new engineer and sniper if Garrus and Tail but died. Vega looks to be the sniper, so I take it we will get a new female engineer as well.

Vega doesn't look like a sniper at all.  In case you were  confused, Vega is most certainly NOT the big ben sniper guy.

Vega will be a soldier like Ashley.  The difference:  Ashley focuses on 'lethality' and Vega on 'survivability'
so basically, vega will mosty likely be filling Grunt's role in Shepard's squad.

Garrus badass Daddy comes joining the carnage with a distinct grudge towards Shepard. And Kal'Reegar shows up to kick some Spectre arse right after he kicked Reaper arse ...

No... Grunt will be filling the role of Grunt. Vega can sit the armory polishing guns with Jacob and other members of "Team Never-Gonna-Get-Used".

I think if we have a save with the bare minimum number of companions to import into ME3, that we should get generic, faceless and nameless companions with inferior stats, (visually no different than the enemies with their helmets on).

These grunts can be done similar to the Reserve Operatives in the old Tom Clancy Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear games and be of the class closest to the companions lost.

And having Barrus would be fun

If Garrus does I will be dissapointed, If Tali dies less dissapointed.

But they have both been very useful characters, always rely on Tali (and now Legion) for hacking into things and knowledge of technology.

Garrus is good with guns!
