 There is a little Meer bashing here, but it is pretty common for agenda driven movements to develop superiority complexes as they work for equality, so I'm not dwelling on it. Each to their own.
I'll probably never play as femshep though, as I see it women are made to be loved, not understood.

^ not really. Its just because its inevitable that voice actors will be compared because male and femshep are essentially gender neutral and its in human nature to make comparisons where available. Most people love femshep because of her voice actor so will say Jen Hale is better then Meer. Of course some people are more vocal then others and both sides have people who go over the top. Some of the comments I seen thrown around by maleshep fans against Jen Hale are really extreme and its not wonder theres a little push and shove at times.

I think both meer and hale did amazing jobs, different tone to male and female sheps but both sound fantastic imo, that said it is great that FemShep is finally going to get some trailer love as in promotion she is usually sidelined! I do usually play FemShep (although have several males aswell) but that is mostly to do with my love for kickass women....buffy, xena ....... :-)

Sweet! FemShep has a special place in my heart, because the only Shepard remaining from my ME1 playthroughs is a FemShep. Hopefully she'll settle down with Ashley this time around.

To be fair, the article does give Meer a little credit, though it seems backhanded to me:

I just felt that Hale's voice acting was far better than Mark Meer's, as good as his work might have been.

I play manShep almost exclusively. I have one femShep, but that's because I really, really wanted to romance Kaidan. That said, I don't hate femShep and I love it when she gets support. I just don't see why femShep supporters can't extend manShep the same courtsey.

Because IMHO Mark Meer sucks period. He has the emotions of a dead cat.

The dialogue leading up to sex scene with Liara in ME1 Meer comes off as a desperate, dirty old man and his delivery of the lines are laughable bad. Hale on the other hand makes the same dialogue funny in a good way, caring, sweet, and sexy.

Meer reading of the "we're gonna need bigger guns" he is stating a fact with no emotion, while Hale makes the line badass and funny.
 
It's the same with Mass Effect 2. Meer has a few good lines namely lines that Hale doesn't have like the romance line with Jack "You're crazy and I'm technically undead." But Hale gets to deliver lines that Meer could never make work in a million years like the psychological baggage she unloads on Jacob if you romance him.
