You don't have to know how to work it to tell it's alien.
Aren't quarians experts on Geth?....aren't there geth ships remains around the Citadel?

It should n't be hard to determine that Sovy isnt' a geth.

While it's true you don't know how to work it to, to tell you that it is alien, but that also doesn't mean it is a reaper, it could be just as easy to believe it's another unencountered species.

Whilst they did design the Geth and are the galaxy's foremost experts, it doesn't mean they know how their evoloution and design have progressed.  Yes there are geth ships, but they to me look like giant ants, and Sovy looks like another giant insect.

If it's another uncountered species, then it's practilcy just as dangerous, given Sovys power. Either way, it should have raised alarm bells.

And yes, they should know how their evolution progressed. Geth are pretty active trough both ME1 and ME2. And again, ship remains.

For all they know sovereign could have just been an ancient warship, he only ever speaks to saren and shepard and his team so they have no objective way of knowing that it's sentient..

Camers and recording devices are shown to exist. We seen omni-tool used to scan, heal and even record things..
IIRC, we even seen helmet cams, something that's not uncommon even today, let alone with future tech where they have collapsable guns and armor.

Yes recording devices exist today too but I don't carry them around all the time. I've seen omni-tools scan and heal but I can't remember anyone recording with it. I also can't remember a helmet cam but even if it exists that doesn't mean everyone has one.

The game has had tons of plot holes. Like the citadel story arc in the first game. The council has no reason to think Saren is evil, yet everyone in town seems to know theres a quarian who has information implicating saren, and Fist is setting her up, and everyone (but Tali, who isn't killed immediatly) knows he's doing that ahead of time.

Or how nobody was able to figure out where the Arkangel battle was on omega, and the location was secret, even though the three largest military forces in the city were out in force? In a crowded city, remember?
They've stopped bothering me, I'm sorry to admit. I just don't care anymore.

I don't think the quarias can comprehend the way the geth think, since there are liteally trillions of them.

ME1, the videmo from the colony IIRc..that was a helmet cam. Again, elite troopers today carry them, and they are a lot bulkier and limtied than they would be in ME universe. So if you're saiyng me elite units in Me universe don't have data recodring and audi/visual processing, I'm finding that hard to belive.

Also, we seen omni-tools do all sorts of stuff, even re-play massages. It also scans..and what is scanning but data collection.
So it can intake data, it nna re-play video/audio..and yet you're telling me it can't record?

Why should it even be necesary to know that?
They compare design, components and functions of sovereign parts and parts from geth ships.
They CAN'T be the same. It is logicly impossible.

It would be a little silly to base a major plot point off something the player can toggle on and off at a whim.

My ipod can re-play video/audio but it can't record. I'm not saying it can't because I have no way of knowing because we've never seen it happen, I'm just saying it's possible that it can't

Shepard was trying to gather more info on the reapers and Saren. If you doing detective work and gathering evidence, then it only makes sense to bring proper equipment with you.

If Shepard didn't have Normandy's sensors working on overdrive and recording/scanning equipment, then he/she is a MORON.

Let's assume for a moment that Shepard's hardsuit is in fact equipped with audio/video recording equipment, and he documented the entirety of say, the Virmire mission. What good would it do? You never actually see Sovereign on Virmire, all you do is speak to a hologram. A hologram which could be easily dismissed by the Council as a VI programmed by Saren to mislead Shepard.

Now Ilos, on the other hand....

Gee, that's funny because the only time the camera would have been useful was at Illos, and by then Shep was only concerned with stopping Saren, not making home movies of him. I think I'll forgive him if he didn't bring the camcorder.

That recording at he beginning of the game proves that there are helmet cams how? You never see the person or the device being used to film. Could have been a hand held device, or a special device to allow someone to make long distance communication that only select soldiers have. Hell, it could have been a civilian with an I phone for all we know.

Look, no one is saying that cameras don't exists, but there is nothing in the game that leads you to believe they have the ability to record what Vigil says while in a war zone. You can't call something a plot hole just because you feel they SHOULD have something.

I feel they should have jet packs on their armor. It makes sense and they have the tech to do it. Doesn't mean I can cry Plot hole whenever I can't rocket up to the level above me.

prove it.
You have not been able to offer one shred of evidence that they can and do carry cameras with them.

In the ME series asa whole?

amnely, that no one excpet Cerberus belives in Reapers.
The Council races have the remains of Sovereign and they are so utterly dumb that tehy consider it geth? What...did they forgot how to do basic carbon dating? Soverign is supposed ot be far older than the geth race. That shouldn't be hard ot figurew out.
Not to mention that  it should be pretty obvious that it's not geth, as all geth share some similarities and it should have been more than obvious after studying the remain, that the ship is FAR more advanced than anytihng the geth ever demonstrated, and it has different design and tech.

The nwe have the whole Ilos thing...the VI interfact? The prothean hybernation tubes? Waht, I know the VI lost power, but since when does loosing power destroy a a computer? Dont' tell me one can't recover any data from the hardware at all?

Or the "dead" reaper the Cerberus stumbled upon. Why keep it secret? There's the perfect proof of repaers right there!

The more I look into hte ME universe, the more holes I keep finding.
Bioware, Y U ruin this?????

What makes you think reapers are made of carbon? How would they have any idea what the geth were capable of when they were hidden behind the percius veil and finally and most poinently it's a complete assumption that only cerberus believe in the reapers. There's been several nods by developers to black ops projects being carried out by other races, who's to say some of them aren't focused on stopping the reapers?

I can't find the link right now, but I believe in one of the conversations Ashley mentions suit cameras. However, the only time when those would have come in useful was on Ilos.

Or a camera phone. We have no idea who recorded it, or what hey used. Everyone assumes it was a soldier, but we honestly don't know. It could have been one of the scientist caught up in the fight. Could have been some random civilian that had a camera the soldiers used to try and get help. Heck, the fact that Ash is telling them to get down instead of fight, would suggest that they were a non combatant.

So Tali, Liara, and Shepard walk into the library on Ilos. Vigil turns on and speaks in a language they can all understand. Vigil tells them everything. And afterward, Shepard says "Damn, I forgot to turn on my omni-tool to record that. Did either of you get that?"

"Dur, dur, dur.... we forgot."

Tali was probably scanning the entire structure the entire time they were there. Seeing how she's always scanning something, she'd probably have recorded every single second of that on her omni-tool, and had Shepard's interrogating it as well. And Liara in a Prothean ruin? Not recording a single second? Seriously.

You wanted proof? There's your proof.

Mr. Ah Yes "Reapers". We've dismissed that claim. I'm convinced the council is indoctrinated, as is pretty much everyone living on the Citadel.
