know that Bioware are aiming for a middle ground of squadmembers in
Mass Effect 3, 5 of which are already chosen, so that means 3-4 spaces
are already open, now I know for a fact (after lurking the forums over
the past couple weeks) that the ones already chosen are hated by one
group or another:
Virmire Survivor: Boring sissy/ Xenophobic Zealot
James Vega : Ignorant Space ******
Tali Zorah : Quarian Encyclopedia
Garrus : Batman - Calibrations Edition
Liara : Creepy stalker
Anway, let's take this time to figure out who will fill the remaining spots:
No.
6 will be a space used to balance out the team, someone to replace the
class missing by the Virmire Casualty, so for instance, if Kaidan dies,
He will be replaced by another Sentinel(Miranda) or if Asheley dies,
Another Soldier( Grunt).
No. 7 Will be taken by, The WildCard,
don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, the WildCard is the
character from a race or group you did not expect to work with you:
ME1
had Liara and Wrex: One was a brute , A bounty hunter and a gun for
hire, the other was a scientist whose mother was right hand (wo?)man to
the main Antagonist.
ME2
had Legion and the only reason you didn't
shoot a round through his luxo-lamp-esque head was because he could
communicate with you,
ME3
will most likely have something similar, be it a Female Turian, Batarian, Volus, Prothean, Hanar, you get the idea.
No. 8 will go to a Mass Effect 2 Squadmate, so lemme' just write them all down(no Tali or Garrus, they don't count)
Jack, Jacob, Zaeed, Samara/Morinth, Thane, Legion, Mordin, Grunt, Kasumi and Miranda,
The one picked would be one with a decent size fanbase with little to no
haters so already Jacob and Jack are out of the picture due to a lot of
hate (One being one of the few realistic characters but that just makes
him seem kinda boring and the other a crazed psycopath) but don't be
suprised if Jack ends up as the aformentioned Vanguard.
Zaeed and Morinth would be out due to the controversy of their loyalty missions
and Samara too because she repeatedly stated that she'd only stick
around until after the Suicide Mission.(Not to mention the other 2 would have probably moved on too).
Thane is terminal but if his sickness can be dealt with somehow I could see him being a viable teammate.
Mordin and Legion are out because of major plot reasons(Heretic issues,
Genophage cure, Quarian peace talks) and also because one of them is
Alpha squishy on the suicide mission and the other could be sold off to
Cerberus for testing.
Grunt and Miranda could easily become No. 6
if time comes but Grunt could be needed elsewhere like helping Wrex
with the genophage or defending Tuchunka and unless she resigns at the
end of the suicide mission Miranda could become a liability. Also she's
come under fire for dressing inappropriately in firefights, being in the
game almost purely for the sake of having a nice ass bobbing arounf the
room and generally being snobby, Then again, she is left with you for
the majority of the game and her plot armor is so thick that she can
only really die until the VERY end of the Suicide Mission.
After Miranda All that's left is Kasumi and I personally really like her, she
probably could have done her loyalty alone anyway and hey, she's got
ninja-physics so she can take care of herself,(don't believe me, rewatch
that scene where she disables Hock's sheilds, she's got to have jumped
at least 50 ft in the air.)
Oh and don't even get me Started on Wrex, I really like him and his banter with others was something I'd
look forward to, but he's too busy uniting the Krogan clans, in over half of
people's playthroughs of ME2 he was dead and if you feel like it you
don't even have to recruit him.
No.9 finally will be reserved for any temporary Squadmates around,
so that's it for now, thanks for reading and post, discuss and enjoy but
please keep it civilised, I don't want mods swooping in Seeker Swarm
style swinging banhammers.
Enjoy
