anyways i really hope James turns out to be real smart and a very likeable character just so everyone can feel like a complete **** for stereotyping.

BAHAHA.

Ahem. It's going to be worse post-release. It never ends. Ever.

Stereotyping is the only way of typing in here I dare say. It's like licking a post in winter, once you taste it, you get stuck.

I'll post this video here, it's well worth watching. I have faith that Bioware will make vega into an interesting character. I hope I'll have to praise Bioware for ME3 in 2012.

Since people seem to know so much about Vega despite only seeing two pictures, and a small blurb about his role.

Can I buy the copy of Mass Effect 3 you obviously own?

uh actually jacob wasnt generic, well compared to other black characters in movies and games.

I like Jacob, but heck, he was "the token black guy" if I've ever seen one. More specifically, "the Righteous Black Guy", the type that is played by Denzel Washington in every movie ever (if young, Morgan Freeman if old - incidentally, that's Anderson's cliche). You can't go much more token blaxploitation on a character unless you go for the most popular type, the Played By Samuel L. Jackson Variant.

Seriously, from the moment he first opened his mouth, his whole m.o. opened like a book.

...still likeable, but cliched as hell. Even the priiiiiiiiiiiiize bit screams "hey I'm a side character in 70's buddy cop flick".

I would have killed for a 70's blaxplotation sterotype Jacob. At least he would have been interesting.

You must think that third (out of whopping 3) stereotype - the Starsky & Hutch Pimp Dude. Jacob's the Denzel Washington's Proud Righteous Guy stereotype, he's only slipping into the pimp stereotype for that one scene. Don't know if Samuel L. Jackson's BAMF will appear in 3, fingers crossed I guess?

I know - Jacob can go face heel turn like Liara for 2, to make the "already gritty dark ME2 even grittier and darkier". A perfect candidate... "I'M TIRED OF THOSE MASSEFFECTING REAPERS ON MY MASSEFECTING CITADEL" and all that jazz.

I know you feel this.

TC is right....he's a generic character, because he looks like a guy you'd see on the street.

He should have long blue hair, gold chains & jewelry, an iPod with Skullcandy earbuds, a scar shaped like a tarantula on his face, and an incredible back-story (like he miraculously regained his eye-sight after losing it from staring into the sun for 12 straight minutes). Cuz THAT would be original.

Who the hell wants a regular Soldier who looks like an every-man....cuz Soldiers aren't every-men! They're super-heroes that choose swords over guns and monologue every chance they get, right?!

More like a Jules Winnfeld  archetype "I'm Blasto the Jellyfish., I'm the Battle of the Citadel!"

I just feel its just racial hate cause he seems brazilian/colombian or any other place from the Hispanic race. He got the hispanic look and his last name seems hispanic, so yeah. Personally I love how they keep adding more humans from different races. We already had white (alot) black, Asian, and Arab so its good to see the Hispanic at last. The ONLY thing i dont like its that this one looks like he is going to brake in half and wont be as straight as he should be, which personally i find it disturbing if he hint things at my shepard, he better keep it to himself or others.

Weren't Kaidan and Williams both hispanic? Atleast they seemed  to be. But hey, I hope Vega will have spanish accent or something. Would be good!

Kaidan's asian, and ill be damned if Ashley is considered a member of my favorite female race yo quiero las chicas espanola  :D

'Sanders' was the surname at the time Game Informer dropped by for their cover story on ME3.  They've since changed it to 'Vega'.

Well, at least Vega is one of the few on the team that actually looks and dresses like a soldier.

I wonder what the general consensus on characters like Carth, Black Whirlwind, and Canderous would be, knowing nothing about them aside from their appearance.

No, Shepard doesn't. Not to the same degree as Vega. The guy isn't fit, he's a mutant.

They probably inserted Krogan genes into the zygote's nucleus. Or maybe Yahg genes.

They could at least have named him Fawkes... Would go well with his hairstyle as well.

Hmm, I wonder if Vega is another Cerberus experiment?

I never chose this outfit for my male Shepherd, I thought he looked like a futuristic redneck/hick (no offence to rednecks).

I don't feel that the male shepherd is too muscular, he is a soldier and it is to be expected that he will be in good shape.

If anything I would have expected a little more muscle on the female Shepherd.
