What's messed up is that if the Warden slept with her, she'll brag about it to Hawke as soon as you meet her. Jesus, Isabela...

You almost got her killed and now the Templars have excuse for a bloody crusade. *sits down on rock*
Anders: I just
Hawke: I know you damn bloody fool - you wanted a revelotion well you have one and they tend to be bloody.

They also tend to be the only way to overthrow dictators. *sigh* Why does everything turn into a debate about the fascist Chantry...

thats true they do and they happen to also be long bloody  natsy  things.  Just becasue my  Hawke  spared Anders and high tailed out  out does not meaan has to be all to happy with how everything went.. What Hawke can't be mad at Anders and frustrated at  how it all went down. Really its on the only thing that never understood about the dialogue system . You can still be mad at a friend and still be there friend in the end.   I  would have like to see some dialogue where  Hawke at the end of the could voice some kind of frustration at the how situation  turned out.

Let me expanded on it to get  the point across.

That's a lot more understandable, as it's a lot more morally gray. The mage/chantry has about as much gray as a bag of Skittles.

Doesn't keep a discussion of boo the space hamster from turning into a flamewar between paragons and renegades

No it does but  I think   the point  making is being missed... because the Dialogue  I am talking about having  has nothing to do with  Mage/Templar discussion between Hawke and Anders.      It has nothing do with  those two  factions.    Its about two friends -  one friend not agreeing with  the other did but not selling  him up the river.  Hawke  is mad but Anders is still his friend and he is not going sell him out.

Only reason my Hawke didn't off Anders was because she was f*cking him. Without the nightly s*x I'd have killed him. My FemHawke pretty much acted from Heart (or Crotch) rather than head.

Incidentally, she chose the "Joker/ Bruce Campbell" option pretty much EVERY time in conversation. Was the best!

Meredith: How well did you guard your own mother? Did she not die at a blood mage's hands?

Hawke: How well did YOU, the Knight-Commander of the templar order, guard MY mother? What the **** were you and your templars doing all that time when a certain killer blood mage was killing all those women!? Oh yeah, YOU, the Knight-Commander, actually ordered the templar Emeric to cease his investigation on that matter! YOU ordered him to stop looking for a killer blood mage! The deaths of all those women are on YOUR hands as well! Do you realize yet that you as a templar FAILED at the purpose for your very existence!? Whereas I, a simple nobody, had to do YOUR JOB and kill that blood mage MYSELF? Tell me, Knight-Commander, are you a coward or are you just incompetent? Or both? You failed my mother and my family, completely and utterly.

Brilliant, very well done!

Some more ideas:

(If Hawke lets Anders walk free after destroying the Chantry)

Sebastian: No! You cannot let this abomination walk free. He dies, or I am returning to Starkhaven. And I will bring such an army with me on my return that there'll be nothing left of Kirkwall for these maleficarum to rule!
Hawke: Listen to yourself, Sebastian. You're a brother of the Chantry and a good man besides. Do you really want to do this? Do you honestly think this is what Elthina would have wanted?
Sebastian: Do not speak her name, Hawke! Elthina was a good woman, yet you never found it in your heart to side with her. And now you're letting this monster roam free? Did she mean nothing to you?
Hawke: I may have disagreed with her on many issues, Sebastian, but I knew enough about her to know that she wouldn't want you bringing ruin to all of Kirkwall for the actions of one man. Whatever Anders did, the people shouldn't have to suffer for it. I'm not letting him go free because I thought what he did was right. I'm doing it because I refuse to make a martyr out of him.
Sebastian: But Elthina needs justice! The Chantry and all those poor souls within need justice! Who are you to deny it to them?
Hawke: Someone who understands that blood for blood has to end someday. Anders did something monstrous, Sebastian, something heinous. Let him live. Let him live to listen as every voice in Thedas declares him a murderer. Let him live to see mages and mundanes alike turn against him. Let him live to be hounded, to be hated, to feel the guilt and shame of what he's done for the rest of his days. Let him live so that he might one day, if he's man enough, try and repair some of the damage he's caused and the wounds he's inflicted. You want to punish him? Let him live.
Sebastian: No! I won't let him leave here alive!
(Sebastian draws his bow at this point, aiming for Anders, but Hawke steps between them without flinching)
Hawke: You want to kill him, Sebastian? Then, by all means, fire. Take your revenge right here and now; slay the one person who believed in you just to kill a man who isn't going to bother to fight back! Listen, Sebastian, Kirkwall is in danger. The templars are going to butcher the entire Circle and they don't care if they have to burn down the entire city and everyone in it to do so. Either strike me down, here and now, or get out of my way, because I don't have time to spare for your crap!
(After a moment's indecision, Sebastian lowers his bow)
Sebastian: Damn you, Hawke.
Hawke: Get out of here, Anders, and don't let me see your face again, or the gloves come off.

(Hawke confronting Cullen during the events of the Last Straw)

Cullen: Champion! In the name of the Maker, stand down! I have no wish to fight you.
Hawke: Of course, not, Cullen, you'd lose. You and your little band of fascists in plate mail are courageous enough when cutting down some scared kids who can't fight back, but against a real threat, that's when you falter. Isn't that what happened in Kinloch Hold? You pissed your robes and had to wait for the Warden to save your collective rears.
Cullen: We are following the dictates of the law, Champion. It is not my place to decide whether the orders of Meredith and the Order are correct. I am a templar, it is my role to obey.
Hawke: You're a dog, a coward, someone too frightened to think for themselves or examine their actions. You've killed children, Cullen. Don't you see that this is wrong?
Cullen: I have my duty, Champion. It would even compel me to fight you, if you do not turn back. Please, I have nothing but respect for you, but the knight-commander has made it clear. The Rite of Annulment must be carried out, but there is nothing to say that you must join them.
Hawke: My conscience says so, Cullen. It's a pity you've forgotten what that is.

(Hawke talking to Master Ilen during the ACT I Herbalist's Tasks quest)

Ilen: I've never met a shem who can bend ironbark to his will. Besides, we have been forbidden from going to the area after losing several of our hunters.
Hawke: What happened? Maybe I can help?
Ilen: I find it insulting you believe you can do what our hunters could not! Here's the location, do with it what you will.
Hawke: I'm sorry, I was only trying to help.
Ilen: The Dalish have had enough of shemlen help to last us an eternity, but there are plenty amongst us who will abandon their people for a life as your pets. Isn't that right, Merrill?
Hawke: Ah, condesencion, xenophobia and barely restrained contempt. Thanks for keeping the good name of the Dalish alive, Master Ilen.
Ilen: Excuse me?
Hawke: First, my offer of assistance was genuine. There are many threats across Thedas that affect all of us, humans and Dalish alike, and no one deserves to have their lives cut short like that. I was trying to help, and there was no reason to bite my head off. Secondly, Merrill remains devoted to her people, and is one of the most compassionate and caring people I've met, Dalish or otherwise. If our roles were reversed, I wouldn't give you haughty, insular fools the time of day, but Merrill is a far better person than I am. You will respect her or I will plant my boot up your ass. Third, if this is the way you treat all outsiders, then it's a wonder that the Dalish have survived for so long. Good day.

When the Arishok asks what Hawke would do with the elves were Hawke in his position:

"Were I you I would not hand them over, as I am me I must demand it."

Or something to that effect.

There IS an "I'm not getting involved" option.  Meredith says if you're not with her, you're against her.

To be fair Meredith thinks that everyone who is with her is against her.

You know, now that I think about it, it's stupid that that whole conversation doesn't change at all whether you kept the shield. Yeah, she says one line different, but her attitude is exactly the same and all the rest of the dialogue is exactly the same.

I like though how if you only have it in your inventory, she complains you're passing it around. Who? Who am I passing around this "Aveline-only" item to, Aveline? Who else used it? Do you have an identical twin that isn't a complete ****? Did she use it for five minutes when I wasn't looking?

 I wonder how the people who buy the restricted loot you sell to merchants react when they find that, for some reason, they just can't use it.

Oh, I've got more:

The Arishok lies dying, to a diplomatic or aggressive Hawke he says "We will return" (or whatever his line is) a sarcastic Hawke gets

"Death is but a door. Time is but a window. I'll be back."

You fight a Sten and Isabela says

<3 that movie.  But if I had to work one line from it into DA, it'd be this.

"So what happened to the Divine?"
"She was poisoned, stabbed, shot, hung, stretched, disemboweled, drawn and quartered."

Act1: Helping Fenris
In breaking into the Mansion of Danarius we discuss being "careful and cautious" before going in; as soon as we're in the door Fenris starts shouting taunts to Danarius...the dialog I would have liked to have available..."SHUT UP YOU STUPID ELF!"

Magistrate's Orders
Aveline: "Have you really so little faith in the law?"
Hawke: "Of course he doesn't, he's an elf. His people have been systematically abused by those in power since the fall of Arlathan. Every single law written regarding them has been designed to keep them opressed. Do I have to remind of the Hero of Ferelden, who was publiclly kidnapped by a noble to be raped, with the help of guards?"
Aveline: "Hawke…"
Hawke: "And on our way here, you were spouting nonsense about 'If there was a better way the Circle would know it'. It's amazing how someone as seemingly jaded as yourself could say things so foolishly naive."

Anders: *completely ignoring Hawke* There can be no half measures *blows up Chantry*

I kind of wished there were more interactions with Leandra or someone whenever you went back to your house.

Hawke: More flowers?
Leandra: Yes. White lilies. *leans in to smell them* I still can't believe I'm being courted at my age.
Hawke: Well, you aren't that old, mother. Just some wrinkles there... and there... and there... and -
Leandra: *chuckles* Very funny, dear. Now why don't you change from your blood-stained robes into something befitting a noble?
Hawke: Oh this? This isn't blood. These are just ... confessional ... juice.
Leandra: Confessional juice that will take weeks to clean it off. Now get dressed. Dinner is ready.

Or something with Orana. I really wanted a scene where Leandra or Hawke even teach her how to read a book like Fenris. That would have been nice. I wanted the mansion to have more home-ly and family feel than just a returning ground to buy potions/runes/poisons/grenades and equip runes to equipment.

The house felt too empty. <_<

I'm sure some variant of these have emerged in the ten pages (not going through all of that just yet), but these are some of how I'd put it.

At some point in Act 3:
Hawke: How do you justify remaining neutral when the conflict is threatening to tear apart the entire city?
Elthina: The Chantry is a gentle mother, not the overbearing father.
Hawke: So you intend to sit there and say 'just wait until your father gets home' until the city burns? You are the Grand Cleric. Meredith is the Knight-Commander of the templars, who are under the authority of the Chantry. You could rein in Meredith's abuses with a few words. Instead, you spend all your time here in this building. When Seamus Dumar was killed in here, you told Petrice that the Maker would have you use your ears. But you're not using them or your mouth or your eyes. You have to know about all of the things going on in the Circle and you've done nothing to stop them or prevent these abuses and illegal activites happening in there. Either take a stand or step down, but things are beginning to get out of hand. If you don't stand up and do something soon, all the words in Thedas won't be able to fix things.

(To Marethari): You are a complete and utter fool. I'm dead serious. You have a responsibility to your clan. The whole clan, not just Merrill, as much as you consider her your daughter. Your clan needs to move on and away from Kirkwall. And since I'm on the subject of Merrill and the clan, do you really think that she'll be accepted by the clan if she were to come back here? The whole clan has turned their backs on her, what makes you think that you can turn that around with a handful of words? One of your hunters ran into the lair of a vartarrel rather than walk out of the cave with her, do you really think that she's ever going to be accepted in this clan again? And as for the mirror... You are the Keeper. Your way of life says that you are responsible for learning the knowledge that your people lost. You can't pick and choose your history. Even the bad things should be remembered, if only to serve as a lesson about why they're mistakes. All you tell Merrill, who trained as your apprentice and was told to care for and respect the same things you are supposed to, is that the mirror is dangerous. You don't tell her why and tell her to give it up. She's doing this for your people. If you can't give her an answer to why it's dangerous beyond 'it is,' you cannot expect her to give up her attempts to fix it.

Personally I thought it would have been cool to have one final word with Cullen at the finale of the game right before Hawke and his party walked off and the credits role. It would have been nice to have the choice of what to say to him, depending on your personal viewpoint on the situation.

Something like "We can end this" if you favored peace or "This is just the beginning, mages will all be free" if you shared Anders goal or "This isn't over, we have a lot of work to do" if you sided with the Templars.

Ooo.  That would've been great.  I always wanted to tell him defecting after the annulment was too little too late.

most of the options i'd like to see involve Hawke punching sebastion in the face every time he opens his mouth.

Holy crap.  I didn't even know this thread was a contest, but I do believe you just won it.
