A "give Merrill a hug" option

In a more general sense, we're seeing what we can do.

Does this mean that there's a chance the LIs might get player initiated dialogue?! Image IPB

Mostly I just would have liked to have told Anders to stuff it. Mage this, oppression that, go back to talking about kitties. It also made me sad that he hated the Wardens so much considering how happy he was that the Warden in Awakening gave him a sort of freedom. I just would have liked to have brought that up. In Awakening he was all funny and loveable and in DA2 he was all f**k everything!

I also would have liked to told Sebastian to shut it. Isabella too. Heck, Hawke needed a shut up option for just about everyone in that game.

I've no idea about the bit where you are told Meredith has already applied for RoA but other posts have indicated this (unless they are merely assuming).  Since Anders wouldn't tell me what he wanted his ingredients for, I walked out until such time as he wished to tell me, so I never went to see the Grand Cleric, which is I assume when it occurs, possibly  through overhearing a conversation between bystanders.
As for the person who says Orsino didn't kill the mages: I am talking about the mage ending.  We had a cut scene showing Templars killing mages but Orsino was still lucid after that as we all gather for the next assault.  When the Templars attack I make a point of doing all I can to keep them from the other mages but then we have the cut scene showing them lying dead and Orsino flips.   So I must assume that either he killed them or possibly, before I arrived, they had all agreed to some sort of suicide pact.  This would tie in with the Templar ending, since the 3 fleeing mages obviously didn't want to be a part of it.  Of course I realise in reality it is Bioware forcing a plot conclusion on you - it would not be the first time - it happened in the Baldurs Gate series - and in this game no matter what you do, Anders is going to plant that bomb and Meredith is going to call for a RoA.

Any.

I would like to know what Hawke is going to say before he says it. Just once.

I'm more selfish I guess. I want to know what *my* character is going to say before I select it always.

I want an option to punch people in the face in dialogues. Does that count as dialogue? It has to! Seriously, when Anders whines at me for the 50th time, I want to punch him. When Sebastian goes preachy once more, I want to punch him. When Merril is being dumb again, I want to punch her.

Act 3
Hawke: Hey Orsino, I found this letter in Quentin's place. Someone in the circle was smuggling him books for his research. The letter was signed by "O."

When Sebastian tries to talk Fenris into helping him turn Merrill and Anders into the Templars...RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!?!

Yeah, I want an interrupt where I can turn around, hit him so hard all his self-righteousness flies out of the back of his head, and then kick him from the group...permanently.

No dialogue, just an ass-kicking.

And, then I want to tell Fenris to grow the eff up.  Not everything is black and white...

But, then, a lot of your companions need the "not everything's black and white" talk.<_<

This so much. When Sebastian did this for the first time my team consisted of Sebastian, Fenris, Anders (romance) and my BLOOD MAGE Hawke.
Sebastian specifically mentioned turning in the malificar. Not the abomination the Malificars..How was my blood mage supposed to think that he ment anyone but her when Merril was not on the team?

Hawke to Viscount on son's death: Look on the bright side, things can't get any worse, not today at least, it's pretty late.

Viscount: Oh? So when did you Mother, brother and sister die?

Oh, Sebastian does that? Then I would like a dialogue tree to assist the two of them.

I think in general I want more dialogue options with Gamlen and possibly later on Charade. Depending on circumstances, they might very well be all that's left, and I would love to see more exploration of family in general (both mother, siblings, and extended family).

Drag uncle out of that hovel and back home, where family belongs.

Ahh, thank you. I knew there was a reason I stopped reading the ME boards but I'd forgotten what it was.

Maybe it's because after the PC Warden-Commander left the new one totally dicks him over and actually assigns a "former" templar to crawl up his ass, and whom eventually tries to murder him? I don't remember if it was just talked about by the devs on the boards or if there were any in-game references, but yeah, the Wardens betrayed Anders not the other way around.

You have to let Ser Karras, murderer and rapist, live by tricking him into leaving during Act I's Act of Mercy quest. If he's alive, he'll mention it when you talk to him in the Gallows in Act III.

Not as realistic when you think about it.. As we're players and it's a video game, we know it's almost certainly Orsino from the O.  Limited amount of characters begining with the letter O, and for drama and/or challenge it's likely to be someone very powerful. But for Hawke, as an actual person, assuming it's Orsino in a city the size of Kirkwall would be akin to finding a body in Las Vegas with "It was T" scrawled in the sand before he died, and immediately saying "My God! Donald Trump killed this man!"

It's the "humorous" response to the Viscount after Seamus is murdered by Petrice and he's holding his dead son in his arms weeping.  If Aveline is in the party, when you leave the Chantry she rightly calls Hawke an ass.

Something similar to this, minus the assy South Park reference, and running back to Fereldan.  I'd take my wealth and raise a militia to take down both or eliminate conflicts in a swift and efficiant manner.

This 'conflict' seems like an easy time for one resourceful man to take power for himself.  That is what I would do.

Hey Antiva, need some help getting rid of your mage and templar problem?  Come to Hawke's Harrowing House of Mage/Templar Hunters!

Life screwed up by Mages and Templar's petty squabbles?  Join me in my quest to end this conflict immediately!

But Bioware never allows you to be proactive, so, I don't see this happening.

There IS an "I'm not getting involved" option.  Meredith says if you're not with her, you're against her.

Then there isn't really a "I'm not getting involved." option.  You are still forced to choose a side.

It's like saying the option to get the road bandits to join you (as you enter Lothering) is a real option in DA:O.  It just leads to a fight where you kill them, it's not a real choice.

I would rather have liked a "Please leave my party." option. I "retired" a few party members and tried to pretend they weren't there, but it just wasn't the same.

This too.  Even Anders could have been an npc, given how generally incompetant Hawke was at stopping them anyway.

Yeah, I mean, wow. I thought Yatzhee had been exaggerating about the Humourous dialogue choices in his review, but apparently, he wasn't being harsh enough.
