I have never named a Shepard after myself.

Mostly because Leigh Shepard just looks goofy. Lee Shepard (same pronunciation) might be okay, but it doesn't really roll off the tongue, and there are other names out there that are way more fun.

Like Dick.

Heh, kinda the reason I didn't name mine "Amy" (my name) ... "Amy" sounds like a wussy name for a leader to me... I called her Evelyn instead... sounds more.. "Commanderish" (.... it's a word! .. ) or authorative... I dunno.. just sounds better than measely little "Amy"

"German" Shepard has popped up either here or on YouTube vids.


As for "wussy" names, just think of it: The enemy would be going "Oooo... I'm so scared" and then suddenly switch to "OH GOSH IT HURTS!!!"

I haven't named a Shepard "Jeff" because there's already one of those in the cockpit.

I named my first Shepard "Hannah Shepard" after myself. I found out my Shepard's mother's name was Hannah. I had to start all over. 20 hours lost over a first name. This was before I learned about mods.

meh, I named a Shepard after myself. she was designed to look like me and was even self insert for the first few hours of the ME1.. and then she kinda run away from me and became her own character. but I almost always name first character in an rpg I play, some sort of variation of my own nime... its a quirk

Simone Shepard though was named specifically becasue I thought it sounded kinda vampy and I wanted her to be a bit of a renegade maneater.

Well... My Sheploo is John because it's Sheploo and not custom Shep. My main Shep is Tiia because I like that name, it's short and I could actually give that name to my daughter if I ever will be blessed with one. My own name starts with T too so I guess that had something to do with it too.
