Soo... in a thread to support a character, it's OK to bash said character?
Good to know.
I didn't know we were supporting a single Shepard.

So....What kind of Character development do you want Shepard to go through?
I want to see all this stress and the strain of having everyone look to her/him for a solution to finally come to the surface. Whether it be through a breakdown with the LI, or an outburst in public. I want to see Shepard be human and just let loose all the bottled up stress.
Maybe make it dependant on your standing. In my case:
Paragon Shep has a moment of weakness with Tali when he admits that he doesn't know what to do or how to save the galaxy, but everyone expects him to have the answers. Then he reveals that he doesn't even have the answers for his own questions (insert something about Mindoir or Torfan or something origin specific here).
Renegade Shep looses it and shouts at her crew about how she isn't the holy savior come to fix the galaxies problems and that she doesn't have the answers for everything. Then she goes off about how everyone expects her to fix their problems when she can't even fix her own (again, insert an origin specific problem).

Real men wear pink.
Actually, if you want to live you should wear pink.
If only Shepard had pink armor, he wouldn't have died at the start of ME2.

Yep. I said something about someones Shepard and everyone flipped out at me too. But the dumb thing was, just because I was a Sheploo fan, all the sheploo fans got aimed at.
Yeah, let's not re-live that. That was a horrible morning. >_<
edit: Yukidama! Post your Sheploo!

But hey... if you want to support Shepard by bashing all his or her iterations, be my guest. I'll be over here, waiting for the thread to get closed.

I've seen the pics. This Shepard is not particularly...aesthetically pleasing to me. Personally, I've found it inexplicable that anyone would atually like it based on the unfortunate proportions and positioning of the features. This is a valid opinion - if somewhat more dispassionate than the others who have commented on it.
I think that if you put your artwork up, then you should be ready for at least some criticial opinions. Anyone who has studied art gets feedback on their artwork from their instructors. How do you ever learn anything without a critique? The truth about something isn't always pleasant, and you have to be able to handle hearing things that aren't always nice. If people really legitimately love it, umm, well, I would question their sensibilities, but they're welcome to enjoy it. Some people love Picasso, some people hate him. *shrug*

I don't find some of the shepards asteticaly pleasing either - personal tastes and all, but do you see me bashing them? if this were actualy an art class with requested critique, you'd have a leg to stand on. but this thread is supposed to be fans celebrating one of their favorite characters and his/her various incarnations. not to mention crituque given by art instructors is usualy constructive rather then plain insulting.

I didn't bash anybody, just think it's a little extreme that the entire thread went RABID ATTACK MODE when somebody said something about another's Shepard (personal attacks for a game character's comments?). Unless you expect said individuals to create another thread that would be locked and told to post here?

Actually, I see the most aesthetically-pleasing and proportionally-sound Shepard, which is Sheploo, ragged on the most. He is infamous.

Uh, I think you mean criticism, and I didn't say that wisecracks were polite. You still have to be able to take your lumps.

Just showing my support by throwing out a couple of banners, nothing too fancy, trying to keep it simple.
Hope you find them acceptable.
The airbrushed armor was graciously given permission for use by it's creator http://ryanroos.devi...t.com/]RyanRoos from deviantART.
