All of us are united for our love for Shepard! H/She's awesome!
Hate to be a downer but this thread was doomed to fail. Having separate threads for the different genders just works better. There are plenty of fans of both Shepards but they have always provided their support in both threads. I'm surprised this flamewar didn't start by who is better...it just took one clown to be rude about how someone's Shepard looked.
Quoted for truth.

This IS exactly what could went wrong through internet, people feels and think they can make any comments as they see fit in.
In real world, before you say anything towards a person, you WILL consider and respect that person in some way. Do you dare to make fun of your boss right in front of him? What someone did here is just slam their comment/action right into that person's face. How can you ask someone easily to forgive you on that? Especially a character that person has a feeling to connect with.
Sure you will make joke with each other, but that only limit to those you really know and understand.
Be considerate and respect other comments, pictures and so on....
Don't forget people can ONLY judge your motivation by your words, please keep that in mind.

I'm not sure if separating the genders will fix it, either. You just form two cliques that way.
Shepard threads in general are just begging to be flamed.

Actually, to be as active as it is, the ME2 femshep thread is one of the most civil on BSN

Ryn, I wub you.To clarify, I would be thrilled if a combined thread would be possible, but if people can't be civil to eachother, which they obviously can't, what's the point.rynluna wrote...

As I said, We don't have to be separate. Just don't criticize another's Shepard when it's not asked for.

It's worked in the ME2 forums, mostly. Like I said, there are plenty of fans who like both who post in both. There aren't any huge flamewars in either of the official MaleShep or FemShep threads.

Those cliques already exist. This happens every time Shepard is mentioned in a specific gender form. It devolves into praising how awesomely high-res Sheploo is, how all femSheps look the same and are plasticy, how Meer is deadpan, and/or how Hale sounds like a butch lesbian.
And it's been that way for years. At least with separate threads you have a better chance at peace and quiet, being left with people who generally agree as opposed to those who are very opinionated and love to take anecdotal potshots at the other side and try to disguise it as honest criticism.

Apparently, there are people who are REALLY bothered by that.
I can't think of any other reason for coming out of nowhere to attack specific characters made by well known posters in that thread.
It must REALLY hurt them, that FemShep fans are enthusiastic and enjoy themselves.

I personally find it ridiculous to think that a topic shepard ( femshep/manshep can not work. )
Chauvinism has no place here. Do not participate, if you think it will not work.
I just think that a group of people can not appreciate another group that's all. but the majority does not need to follow you in your disagreement.
Rather than spoil this topic, why not go back to your respective topics that please you so much with your gender, alone ?
It's about shepard.

A Sheploo thread was started, but a mod merged it into this one. But then again this was made already with intentions to please both M/F Shepards. But to no luck.

After browsing the femshep thread a few times, are you so sure that if someone were to post a constructive criticism about a certain Female Shepard's face, or to make a comment about how "photomanips" are a form of artistic plagiarism, do you think that would be taken well at all in the femshep thread?
But hey, I don't post there. Disregard this post, it's derailing.

What?
I have a couple Femsheps. Even posted some screenshots in the thread for a while, here's a post. In fact, here's a (on topic!) couple screenshots of one I just made, and she's just as confused as I am:

I've posted a few times about how I prefer Mark Meer's work in ME2 to Jennifer Hale's, but I felt the opposite in ME1. I'm not sure how that would make me part of some anti-Femshep bogeyman cult.
