I agree! I totally want to see Shep vulnerable.....and yes not every person what's that I know, but that's why there's dialogue options! :) so everyone is happy!

I support Shep being vulnerable with LI's/Joker/Chakwas... he/she's been through a lot, and renegade/paragon/ a little bit of both they're still human......

ME2 failed to show how Shepard feel about the matters she/he has been through, the little talk with Dr Chakwas is just way too short.

Colly: Don't give me that crap speech, drop down your weapon and fight me with your fist. I dare you!

By the way, for those who don't understand why people make Photomanip, may be they can't really relate themsevles to Shepard. Shepard is more than just a game character, whether is a female or male...

If you want to tell the story of your Shepard, a simple Photomanip tells more than words
Image IPB
And sometimes, words just not 'colorful' enough to show about the actual imagine of your story ;)

Not at the moment, sorry.

(ETA: Which means, it's likely on a printout at home. Assuming I haven't lost it.) :o

Hyper_gateway, heh you think Shepard had any chances of surviving if she was "vulnerable"

She would be vulnerable when she is 'at work'. Being a professional soldier means they can concentrate on their mission and get it done without letting any feeling involve.

The only time Shepard can relax and vent out the feelings are mostly the in the Cabin....

I do hope to see more emotional scenes in ME3. Places where Shepard will be really happy or sad. I think with the improved graphics in ME those scenes will have more impact on the player. Also I'd like more harder choices unlike the once in ME2 where you just selects a dialogue options to get out easily.

I don't think the people who don't understand photomanips are incapable of 'relating' to their Shepard. I feel very close to my Shep. But I'm also an artist. Photography is powerful for just the reasons you mentioned; a shot can tell an entire story without words. But that's their work. Unless an artist has their photos up for free use, it's just as wrong to manipulate a photo as it is to take a picture off deviant art and redraw the head on a character.

There ARE plenty of CC [creative common] photos though, and it'd be nice to see more photomanip Shepards using these. In those instances, the artists has already given an 'okay' to use their photos for [usually] non-profit artwork or referencing. Really good places to look for these are on flickr's creative common's website, [http://www.flickr.co...eativecommons/] and some archives on deviant art.

And, it's always polite to include the photographer's name at the bottom of the image.

I don't mean to discourage photomanippers though, I've seen some really awesome ones on the community, even if I'm something of a lurker. I don't think it should be stopped. But I can understand why people are apprehensive about it, considering.

Edit: And if you want to be even more hardcore, set up shots! A little photoshop and a deccent camera can really help you make the scenes that you want, with the added bonus of the entire image being completely your creation.

I'm wary of reposting my Shepards after their welcome last night, but I play these games because I like Shepard, my concept of her, the personalities I gave her. I have no male Shepards, though, mostly because if I want to see a male being played, I just have to watch my husband's game. After that, I don't really feel the need to make a male.

Partly why I'm against photomanips in the first place.  Many photomanips I've seen use images one could just obtain from a google image search, and none of them have ever referenced the original photo or photographer.  As an artist myself, and one that happens to appreciate photography, I think it's somewhat insulting.

Some tidbits from Twitter confirming a more well rounded Shepard among other things.

Writers will delve more deeply into Shepard's character.

Shepard's character background will matter.

Shepard gets better hair.  Will femShep get longer hair?  Dunno.  Will maleShep get long hair too and beard? Will he actually be able to look like space Jesus?  Again, dunno.

More "specific" animations for Shepard in ME3.

Patrick Weeke's LJ post on gender blindness

I don't actually care about longer hair, but some better choices to show the humanity I've instilled in my characters would be nice.

this.

and i do not know a single person who is human and not vulnerable in some way, at some time, on some issue. besides, i like that the writers give players the option to decide just how vulnerable shep is. that's the beauty of how they've been writing this saga.
