I got a feeling the Comic Con FemShep poll was particularly for her
hairstyle and the poll in may was to determine the colors. If not - what
was the point!? Someone spam Silverman about this XP
I wish the selection had been better, and not so slanted as it was--there should've probably been two redheads, two blondes, and two brunettes, not four brunettes and one each of blonde and redhead. Each category should've had one short and one long hairstyle. That would've been more even.
Giving the blonde by far the best-looking hairstyle of all the choices? Not exactly fair. It feels deeply slanted, as if they knew they wanted to make a Samus clone and tried to make sure the majority would choose it. If that's not the case, then it was simply a poorly assembled selection, and not being able to see the face up-close (on Facebook, at least) is also a major negative. I might have liked one of the others better than the one I voted for, but I couldn't know that when I voted.
Dave's twitter now says, "we decides to create more
#FemShep options for people to vote on, but kept the red hair and Green eyes as an option." (sic) I don't entirely follow what he means by that, but I suppose that they just added that one redhead with the really awful severe hairstyle and since nobody voted for it nothing's going to happen. Too bad the hair/eyes poll was such a waste of time. "Act now!" ...right. Because that totally did anything other than give us a poorly made red option which naturally got less votes than the others. (I love red, but I couldn't vote for that one. It was weak sauce.)
If he means you can change her hair to red in the game, that's not exactly comforting. I don't want to see bleach-blond and black eyebrows in the trailer or on my CE box. Can't change my feelings on that. I like natural or at least marginally natural coloring. I cannot imagine Shepard wanting to look like that.
