I'm not sure if I have ever posted in this thread, and it's a good one.
I myself prefer playing with male Shep,Sheploo to be more precise. Not just because I prefer Meer over Hale, but also because I can identify with him more.
Favourite class is Soldier,by far. What can I say,I like shooting things with big guns.
Shepard is one of my favourite game protagonists ever, but I really think he needs to reveal his human side in ME3,show some emotions.
And I can't wait to find out what that twist on Shepard is.

Wow you too? That almost exactly how I do it. I couldn't get myself into playing femshep. But I will give it a try. And I always liked big guns(specially assault rifles). When I get some time, I will try a female playthrough with a biotic class. Best biotic class in Vanguard right?

May be I'll give it a try in the near future cuz I hate my male Shepards no matter how I play it ( Paragon/Reganed/Mixed) and I shall see...

OMG why do people hate male shepard? Can't be the looks cos its customizable. Is it the voice acting?

I don't hate the guy but you have exactly pinpointed one of the problems I have; customisation. I spent hours struggling with both in ME. I did the female first and then the guy when I finished 2 rounds. When I finally did end up with a face for the guy, I still didn't like him and played the game with no joy. Posted Image   Which only made it a bad experience for me. Even as i became familiar with the creator menu, I still cannot make a guy face I like in ME2. Hence, I abandon guy Shep as a hopeless case for me. Posted Image   And move on with gal Shep.

Revenant cos I don't like semi-auto. Revenant got an accuracy problem, but its good with assault rifle accuracy upgrade and burst fire. Also it owns at full-auto at close range.

Vanguards rock, but you cannot play cautiously or you get wiped out fast.  If you've never played a biotic before, I'd go with Adept and let your team do the tanking and stay in the back.  They're squishy.  Adepts, that is.

I like to watch Shep's facial gymnastics. Posted Image  Catching that growl, that twitch of the eyebrow, a lift of the lips, etc, that made the char alive and clue the player on what Shep's thinking about or feeling. I like to take snapshots and there are several that's funny (not here though).

Edit : Images removed. Breeze in, breeze out. Posted Image

Yep! Thats the idea of this thread. No need to fight when talking about shepard because its the same person, just gender switched.
@meonlyred, that pic is badass. :wizard:

Am I the only one that think any of those new femsheps don't suit to be Commander Shepard? Take a look at this aticle.
Why did BW suddenly need a new femshep. The original femshep looks fine. All of those new once look like teenagers to me. Sheploo in ME3 looks stressed and all his problems are shown in his face. I think it is very realistic. But these new femshep look like models.
I think BW just wanted a pretty face for the collectors edition box art. A place that should have been given to original femshep.
:(

The original femshep was just a standard character creator face.

Regardless of how she actually looks, I'm really glad they're giving her some attention at last. That the're bothering to make a proper default face is a very good sign.
I agree the femsheps are pretty young looking, but the fact that they're bothering with her at all totally makes up for it.

I believe I read somewhere that original femshep will still be a preset.

I'm sorry but that article is a crock of judgemental stereotyping drivel.

as to why bioware needed a new femshep?  like it was mentioned before - original default is just a CC preset and not even well done one ( to be honest, all the presets were iffy, and there was one, that was just downright terrible).  the proportions on the original Jane were all wrong so she looks off.  Bioware finaly decided to market femshep along with maleshep, so they needed a better model.  you know with maleshep actualy being a scan of real person's face? not just any person either, a highly rated male model (speaking of pretty)
maybe the better choice would have been to just pick a human for femshep and scan her in.  but bioware decided that they wanted to reward the fans by letting them chose.  poor bioware...

lastly.  its all concept art.  not actual in game renderings.  concept art.  wait to lynch the artists untill you see the trailer, kk?  (maleshep btw, looks either like his ME2 self, or older self, depending on which demo you're watching, which makes me wonder if they were just testing/showcasing an ability to modify defaults slightly.)

Is it just me or does "new" femShep look like Natalie Portman(facial structure wise)? As for the voting and stuff, that article has been ripped to shreds throughout the internet, and you can make a crude stereotype out of all the appearances. I don't know what the hair color of blonde did to her, but it struck a nerve obviously. I would be more upset at the lack of age femShep shows than her hair color and style. She looks much younger than Sheploo. My personal opinion towards femShep. Make the "Jane" from ME1/2, but with a high res texture.
