If I had to guess, I'd say that your femShep is renegade and maleShep is paragon (armour colours). I used to like that visor but when I noticed that the target circle is no where near the eye, it started to bug me and I stopped using it.

In my opinion it doesn't matter if they look like every other Shepard. If you're happy with them then it's all good. Judging by your comments you aren't, though.

I don't know what others think of my Shep but at least she doesn't annoy me at all and in pleasant to look at. That's why I use her pretty much exclusively as my Shepard now. She's probably somewhat in the minority being a face structure 9 Shepard. I never managed to do non-annoying maleShep, there was always something wrong. Sheploo isn't really the same since it's not custom (though Sheploo is my maleShep).

I'm completly useless with a female faces, so I only did a little tweaking of the first custom female Shepard.
Maybe I try the number 9 I think your femShep looks awesome.

...but the armours also kinda give it away. Who am I kidding? Anyone...?

Doesn't really bother me. For that matter a case could be made that the scrolling text on the visor also doesn't line up; how's Shepard supposed to read it?

Femsheps I usually have no problems with... they are not always conventionally pretty, but since its not usualy my goal, it all works out. I'm so jealous though of people who manage to make this great looking male Shepards. I've tried. god, have i tried... my shepard graveyard is full of headmorphs that I wasn't happy with. finally ended up .. "borrowing" couple of faces I liked from masseffectfaces website, just tweaked them a little. the only male Shepard of mine that I'm mostly happy with is Jean Luc, but I didn't try to make him handsome. I tried to make him resemble a certain awesome captain

He looks like a well weathered marine who means bidness.

The lighting in Mass Effect 2 tends to be harsh on custom characters. It's rare to find a really good spot for closeups. But I'm thinkin' Shepard won't be too worried about being well lit during the final showdown with Mr. H.

Shepard: "Oh gee. Wait! Can we just, um."
Harbinger: "I agree, Shepard. The lighting was far more flattering on the docking platform."
Shepard (runs back to the well lit docking platform and then strikes a pose): "Prepare to die, spaceman!"
Liara (sighs): "Reaper."
Shepard: "You say 'tomato', I say 'spaceman'."

@Wyldechylde: I was fooling around in that Gib editor with colouring and a change of hairstyle in ME2. I'm not a fan of makeup normally, but I have to use it in this game to cover up femshep's weird, crappy eyelashes. Anyway, I like that femshep, though looking at that shot more her lips look a little too big. This is the Shepard I have as a paragon/paragade.

As for manshep, I hate the nose and eye selection in this game. Couldn't they just make a nose that had relatively equal sized nostrils? I don't care about the bump in the bridge, I just want equal sized nostrils and a nose that doesn't look like it was subjected to assault by a hammer hundreds of times (all bent and crookedy).  And the cheekbones...God I hate the cheekbones. 

I guess I just find that ME's character creator is really crappy. Hurray for ME3 and hopefully being able to make blondes actually look like real blondes.

Aye. Noses and eyes are really weird looking mostly for male Sheps. One could fit a potato in each nostril (they also look like talons) and eyes look weird. The face shape overall too is somewhat weird, too round or something. That kinda leaves me no options since Sheploo is the only one that looks real and not a cartoon character. Shame that there isn't similar noses and face structure available for custom maleSheps (I happen to have pretty much 1:1 nose).

Yeah I've noticed this with male sheps too, i might go into the CC later today and give it a serious swing for a maleshep custom creation. I've been planning to do it for a while now anyways.

Here's to hoping both female AND male shep will get a river of new options for the CC come ME3 =o
